5. Operating Instructions

Adjust your chair to achieve optimal comfort and ergonomic support.

5.1. Chair Height Adjustment

To adjust the chair height, locate the lever on the right side beneath the seat. While seated, pull the lever up to lower the chair. To raise the chair, stand up and pull the lever up. Release the lever at the desired height.

5.2. Armrest Adjustment (Flip-up)

The armrests feature a flip-up design for space-saving. To raise the armrests, simply lift them upwards until they lock into a vertical position. To lower them, pull them down. This allows the chair to be pushed closer to a desk.

5.3. Headrest Adjustment

The headrest offers multi-dimensional adjustments for optimal neck support:

  • Height Adjustment: Lift the headrest upwards to increase its height by up to 11 cm (4.3 inches). Push down to lower.
  • Rotation: Rotate the headrest up to 30 degrees to find your preferred angle.
  • Angle Adjustment: The headrest also features an adjustable angle of 25 degrees for personalized cervical support.

5.4. Lumbar Support System

The chair features a dual-segment backrest with a split lumbar support system. This design adapts to the natural L3-L5 curves of your spine, providing targeted support to reduce pressure on intervertebral discs. The lumbar support automatically adjusts to your posture.

5.5. Rocking Function

The chair allows for a 25-degree rocking motion. To engage or disengage the rocking function, use the tension knob located beneath the seat. Turn clockwise to increase tension (less rocking) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (more rocking).

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your chair.

  • Cleaning Mesh Fabric: The highly elastic mesh fabric is stain-resistant. For daily spills, gently wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning Padded Seat: For the padded seat cushion, use a soft, damp cloth with a mild upholstery cleaner. Blot spills immediately.
  • Frame and Base: Wipe the nylon frame and star base with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Casters: Periodically clean any hair or debris from the casters to ensure smooth rolling.
  • Hardware Check: Every few months, check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your chair, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Chair Sinks or Does Not Stay Up: This usually indicates an issue with the gas lift cylinder. Ensure the height adjustment lever is fully disengaged. If the problem persists, the gas lift may need replacement.
  • Chair Squeaks: Check all screws and bolts, especially where the backrest and armrests attach to the seat, and where the seat attaches to the mechanism. Tighten any loose hardware. Applying a small amount of silicone lubricant to moving parts (avoiding the gas lift piston) may also help.
  • Casters Not Rolling Smoothly: Inspect casters for trapped hair, dust, or debris. Clean them thoroughly. Ensure casters are fully inserted into the star base.
  • Difficulty Adjusting Headrest: Ensure no obstructions are present. If the mechanism feels stiff, try moving it through its full range of motion a few times.

If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please contact Submi customer support.
