Introduction

The ROROLL WS-6933 is a compact and efficient DVB-S2 digital satellite finder meter designed to assist users in accurately adjusting satellite dishes. Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Charge

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the provided 12V/1.2A DC adapter to the charging port on the device and plug it into a power outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate. A full charge typically takes approximately 3 hours, providing up to 3 hours of operating time.

2. Device Overview and Connections

Familiarize yourself with the device's layout. The WS-6933 features a 2.1-inch LCD screen, control buttons, and various ports for connectivity.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On and Main Menu

Flip the power switch to the ON position. The device will boot up and display the main menu on the LCD screen. Use the navigation buttons (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) and the OK button to navigate through the menu options.

2. Satellite Dish Adjustment

The primary function of the WS-6933 is to help you find and optimize satellite signals. Follow these steps:

  1. Select Satellite: From the main menu, navigate to 'Sat Setting' or 'Signal Scan'. Select the desired satellite from the pre-programmed list or add a new one.
  2. Connect to LNB: Ensure your LNB cable is securely connected to the device's LNB input. The device will provide power to the LNB (13V/18V, IMax 300mA).
  3. Adjust Dish: Slowly adjust the azimuth and elevation of your satellite dish. Observe the signal strength and quality readings on the LCD screen. The device provides a digital meter for both signal strength and quality (BER, PWR).
  4. Locking Signal: When a strong signal is detected, the device will emit a sound alarm and/or light alarm, indicating a locked signal. Fine-tune the dish for the highest possible signal quality.
  5. DISEQC and 22KHz Tone: The WS-6933 supports DISEQC 1.0/1.1 and 22KHz Tone. Configure these settings in the 'Sat Setting' menu if your setup requires them.
  6. Mechanical Compass: Utilize the integrated mechanical compass for initial dish alignment, especially for determining the correct azimuth.

3. Additional Features

  • LNB Short Protect: The device features LNB short circuit protection to prevent damage.
  • Beep Integrated: Audible feedback for signal locking and navigation.
  • Auto Calculate Angle of AZ, EL: The device can assist in calculating the approximate azimuth and elevation angles for your location.

Maintenance

1. Software Upgrades

The WS-6933 supports software upgrades via its USB port. Periodically check the ROROLL official website for the latest firmware versions. To upgrade:

  1. Download the latest firmware file to your computer.
  2. Connect the WS-6933 to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  3. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update package to complete the upgrade.

2. Cleaning and Storage

  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan. Recharge every few months.
