5.2 Using the Safety Key
The safety key is a critical safety feature. Before starting the treadmill, attach the clip of the safety key to your clothing. Insert the magnetic end of the safety key into the designated slot on the control panel. If the safety key is removed during operation, the treadmill will immediately stop.
5.3 Starting and Stopping the Treadmill
- Ensure the safety key is properly inserted and clipped to your clothing.
- Stand on the side rails of the treadmill, not on the belt.
- Press the 'START' button on the remote control. The treadmill will typically begin with a 3-second countdown before the belt starts moving at a low speed.
- Carefully step onto the moving belt and begin walking.
- To stop the treadmill, press the 'STOP' button on the remote control, or pull the safety key.
5.4 Adjusting Speed
Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the remote control to increase or decrease the treadmill's speed. Adjust the speed gradually to find a comfortable pace.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your UMAY P8 Treadmill. Always unplug the treadmill before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Cleaning
- Wipe down the treadmill's surfaces with a damp cloth after each use to remove sweat and dust.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
- Periodically vacuum underneath the treadmill to prevent dust buildup.
6.2 Belt Lubrication
The running belt requires lubrication every 3-6 months, or after approximately 100 hours of use, depending on usage frequency. Use only the silicone oil provided or recommended by UMAY.
- Unplug the treadmill.
- Loosen the rear roller bolts slightly to lift the belt.
- Apply a small amount of silicone oil evenly under the center of the running belt.
- Tighten the rear roller bolts.
- Plug in the treadmill and run it at a low speed for 5 minutes to distribute the lubricant.
6.3 Belt Adjustment
If the running belt is off-center or slipping, it may need adjustment. Use the hex wrench provided.
- Belt Off-Center: If the belt drifts to the left, turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise in quarter-turn increments. If it drifts to the right, turn the right rear roller bolt clockwise. Run the treadmill for 1-2 minutes after each adjustment.
- Belt Slipping: If the belt slips during use, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise in quarter-turn increments to increase tension. Do not overtighten.
