3. Setup and Installation

The TECKNET Wireless Doorbell is designed for straightforward installation. No wiring is required.

3.1 Installing the Receiver

  1. Plug the receiver into a standard electrical outlet in your desired location. Ensure the outlet is easily accessible and not obstructed.
  2. For optimal performance, place the receiver centrally within your home to maximize signal coverage from the doorbell buttons.

3.2 Installing the Doorbell Button (Transmitter)

The doorbell button can be installed using either adhesive tape or screws.

Method 1: Using Adhesive Tape

  1. Clean the desired mounting surface thoroughly to ensure it is free of dust and moisture.
  2. Peel off one side of the double-sided adhesive tape and apply it to the back of the doorbell button.
  3. Peel off the other side of the tape and firmly press the doorbell button onto the cleaned surface for at least 30 seconds.
  4. Ensure the button is placed in a visible and easily accessible location, typically near your front door.

Method 2: Using Screws

  1. Open the doorbell button casing (refer to the diagram in Image 3.2 for guidance).
  2. Mark the positions for drilling holes on your desired mounting surface using the button's back plate as a template.
  3. Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if mounting on masonry or drywall.
  4. Secure the back plate to the wall using the provided screws.
  5. Reattach the doorbell button casing to the secured back plate.

Note: The doorbell button is IP65 waterproof, making it suitable for outdoor installation. Ensure the mounting surface is flat to maintain the seal.

4. Operating Instructions

The TECKNET Wireless Doorbell offers customizable settings for sound and visual alerts.

4.1 Adjusting Volume and Melodies

  • Volume Control: Press the Volume Control button on the side of the receiver to cycle through 5 volume levels (0dB to 120dB). A mute mode (0dB) is available for quiet environments.
  • Ringtone Selection: Press the Ringtone Selection button to browse through 60 available melodies. Press repeatedly until you find your preferred chime.

4.2 Working Modes

The receiver offers three distinct working modes:

  • Ringtone Only: The receiver will only produce sound when the doorbell button is pressed.
  • LED Only (Silent Mode): The receiver's RGB light will flash without sound. This mode is ideal for sleeping babies or individuals with hearing impairments.
  • LED & Ringtone: The receiver will both produce sound and flash its RGB light when the doorbell button is pressed.

To change the working mode, press the dedicated Mode Selection button on the side of the receiver.

4.3 Memory Function

The doorbell system features a memory function that retains your last selected melody and volume level even after a power outage or if the receiver is unplugged.

5. Maintenance

The TECKNET Wireless Doorbell is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the receiver and doorbell button with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: The doorbell button uses a CR2032 lithium battery, which has an estimated lifespan of 4.5 years. When the button's performance degrades or it stops transmitting, replace the battery. To replace, carefully open the button casing, remove the old battery, and insert a new CR2032 battery with the correct polarity.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TECKNET Wireless Doorbell, refer to the following common solutions:
