Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Terra XT 2.0 camera is powered by an 8-piece battery tray. For optimal performance, use new, high-quality AA alkaline or lithium batteries. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the camera.
  2. Open the latch and remove the battery tray.
  3. Insert 8 AA batteries into the tray, matching the positive (+) and negative (-) indicators.
  4. Slide the battery tray back into the compartment and secure the latch.

Note: A 12V DC auxiliary jack is available for use with external power packs for extended operation.

2. Memory Card Installation

The camera requires an SDHC UHS-I memory card for storing photos and videos. A 32GB card is included in this bundle.

  1. Locate the SD card slot, typically near the battery compartment or on the side of the camera.
  2. Insert the 32GB SDHC memory card into the slot with the label facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.

Important: Format the memory card using the camera's menu system before first use to ensure compatibility and prevent data corruption.

3. Mounting the Camera

The Terra XT 2.0 features an integrated multi-position mount and a 1/4-20 threaded insert for versatile mounting options. Consider the camera's detection and flash range (80 feet) when choosing a location.

  • Strap Mounting: Use the included strap to secure the camera to a tree or post. Thread the strap through the camera's mounting slots and tighten securely.
  • Tripod/Mounting Arm: Utilize the 1/4-20 threaded insert on the bottom of the camera to attach it to a standard tripod or a compatible mounting arm for precise positioning.
  • Security: The camera includes a Python cable provision for enhanced security, allowing you to lock the camera to its mounting point (cable sold separately).

4. Huntsmart App Integration

The Terra XT 2.0 is compatible with the Huntsmart App, enabling remote control and on-demand access to photos and videos.

  1. Download the Huntsmart App from your device's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to create an account and add your Terra XT 2.0 camera. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the camera or entering its serial number.
  3. Once connected, you can manage camera settings, request photos/videos, and view captured media remotely.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

  • To power on, slide the power switch to the "ON" position. The camera will perform a self-check.
  • To power off, slide the power switch to the "OFF" position.

2. Basic Settings Configuration

Access the camera's menu system using the onboard controls to configure settings. Many settings can also be adjusted via the Huntsmart App.

  • Mode: Select between Photo, Video, or Photo+Video mode.
  • Photo Resolution: Up to 24MP.
  • Video Resolution: 720p.
  • Trigger Speed: The camera has a quick 0.5-second trigger speed.
  • Time-Out Delay: Customize the delay between captures from 2-59 seconds or 1-59 minutes.
  • Photo Burst: Set the camera to take 1-3 photos per trigger event.
  • Date/Time: Set the current date and time for accurate timestamps on captured media.

3. Capturing Photos and Videos

Once configured and armed, the camera will automatically capture images or videos when motion is detected within its 80-foot detection range.
