4. Setup
The Houselife HL-XC-01 Cordless Snow Shovel features tool-free assembly, allowing you to get started quickly.
4.1 Assembly Instructions
- Connect Shaft Sections: Align the two main shaft sections and push them together until they click securely into place.
- Attach Adjustable Handle: Slide the adjustable auxiliary handle onto the shaft. Secure it in your desired position by tightening the yellow knob. This handle can be adjusted up to 180 degrees for ergonomic comfort.
- Insert Battery: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Slide a compatible DeWalt 20V MAX battery into the battery port on the main handle until it locks into place.

4.2 Adjustable Handle
The adjustable handle allows for a customized fit, reducing strain on your back and arms during operation. Loosen the yellow knob, position the handle to your comfort, and then tighten the knob to secure it.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Snow Shovel
To start the snow shovel, engage the dual safety switch:
- Press and hold the safety button located on the side of the main handle.
- While holding the safety button, squeeze the trigger to activate the motor.
Release the trigger to stop the unit.

5.2 Clearing Snow
Push the snow shovel forward into the snow. The rotating auger will clear an 11-inch path and throw snow up to 20 feet away. For best results, clear snow in even passes.
- Light to Moderate Snow: This electric snow shovel is ideal for quick clean-ups after light to moderate snowfall.
- Clearing Depth: The unit can effectively clear snow up to 6 inches deep. For deeper snow, clear in multiple, shallower passes.
- Directional Throw: Position yourself to throw snow away from areas you do not wish to clear, such as windows or adjacent pathways.
