Before using your espresso machine for the first time, or if it has not been used for an extended period, follow these steps to prepare the machine and prime the water system:

Initial Use Procedure

  1. Fill the 42 oz removable water tank with fresh, cold water and place it securely on the machine.
  2. Turn on the machine by pressing the power button.
  3. Place an empty cup under the steam wand. Rotate the control knob to the "Steam/Water" position to allow water or steam to spout out for approximately 10 seconds. This drains air from the pipe and primes the system.
  4. Rotate the control knob back to the "OFF" position.
  5. The machine is now ready for normal brewing.
