1. Introduction

The SNAKOL SK-8303A is a dedicated ultraviolet (UV) measurement tester designed for accurate UV intensity readings. 3. Product Features

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

The SK-8303A is equipped with a built-in 2000mAh Li-ion Polymer Battery. Before initial use, or when the battery indicator shows low power, charge the device using the provided Type-C charging cable.

  1. Connect the Type-C end of the charging cable to the charging port on the side of the SK-8303A.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the charging cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. The charging indicator on the device will illuminate during charging and turn off or change color when fully charged.

4.2 Initial Power On

Press and hold the power button () located at the bottom right of the device until the display illuminates. The device will perform a self-check and then enter the default measurement mode.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the power button () for approximately 2 seconds.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the power button () for approximately 2 seconds. The device also features an auto power-off function to conserve battery.

5.2 Selecting Measurement Mode (UVA, UVB, UVA+B)

The SK-8303A can measure UVA, UVB, and display the combined UVA+B. Use the MODE button to cycle through the available measurement modes. The active mode will be indicated on the high-definition display.

5.3 Switching Units (µW/cm², mW/cm²)

To change the measurement units, press the UNIT button. The display will toggle between microwatts per square centimeter (µW/cm²) and milliwatts per square centimeter (mW/cm²).

5.4 Data Hold Function

Press the HOLD button to freeze the current measurement on the display. Press HOLD again to release and resume live measurement.

5.5 Data Storage and Recall

The device can store up to 999 groups of data. Use the REC button to save the current measurement. To recall stored data, navigate through the stored records using the appropriate buttons (refer to the on-screen prompts or detailed manual for specific navigation).

5.6 USB Communication and Upper Computer Software

Connect the SK-8303A to a computer using the provided Type-C USB cable to utilize the upper computer software. This software allows for:

  • Real-time data recording and monitoring.
  • Statistical analysis (maximum, minimum, average values).
  • Setting alarm thresholds.
  • Configuring recording intervals.
  • Generating and printing PDF reports and data tables.

Ensure the necessary drivers and software are installed on your computer. These can typically be found on the SNAKOL official website or provided with the product.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To maintain accuracy and prolong the life of your device, keep the sensor and display clean. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For the sensor, use a lint-free cloth and avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

6.2 Protective Case

The SK-8303A comes with a silicone protective case. This case helps prevent damage from drops and offers a degree of high-temperature resistance. Ensure the case is properly fitted for optimal protection and comfortable handling.

6.3 Storage

When not in use, store the device in its protective bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the device to a power source using the Type-C cable and try again.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure the sensor is clean and unobstructed. Verify that the device is in the correct measurement mode (UVA or UVB) for your application. Avoid strong electromagnetic interference.
  • USB communication issues: Check the Type-C cable connection. Ensure the correct drivers and upper computer software are installed on your PC. Try a different USB port or computer.
  • Display not working: If the display is dim or unresponsive, try charging the device. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
