Controls and Ports

  • Power Button: Press and hold to turn on/off.

  • TF Card Slot: Insert TF (microSD) card for music playback.
  • USB Port: Insert USB drive for music playback.

Setup

Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the radio. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the DC 5V port on the radio and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator on the screen will show charging status. A full charge takes approximately 3-4 hours.

Antenna

Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal FM and DAB/DAB+ reception.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power button (located on the side) to turn the radio on or off.

Mode Selection

Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: FM, DAB/DAB+, Bluetooth, TF Card, and USB.

FM Radio Operation

  1. Switch to FM mode using the MODE button.
  2. Automatic Tuning (ATS): Press and hold the ENTER/SCAN/HI button to automatically scan and store available FM stations.
  3. Manual Tuning: Briefly press TU+ or TU- to fine-tune the frequency.
  4. Preset Stations: Use MEMO/STORE to save a station. Use TU+ or TU- to navigate through saved presets.

DAB/DAB+ Radio Operation

  1. Switch to DAB/DAB+ mode using the MODE button.
  2. The radio will automatically scan for DAB/DAB+ stations upon first entry or if no stations are found.
  3. Use TU+ or TU- to navigate through the list of available stations.
  4. Press INFO to view detailed information about the current broadcast (DLS).

Bluetooth Operation

  1. Switch to Bluetooth mode using the MODE button. The screen will display "Bluetooth Pairing".
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your external device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for "RD939".
  3. Select "RD939" to pair. Once connected, the radio will confirm.
  4. Control playback (play/pause, next/previous track) from your connected device or using the TU+/TU- buttons on the radio.

TF Card / USB Playback

  1. Insert a TF (microSD) card or USB drive into the respective slot/port.
  2. Switch to TF Card or USB mode using the MODE button. The radio will automatically detect and begin playing audio files.
  3. Use TU+ to skip to the next track and TU- to go to the previous track.

Alarm Clock Function

The RD939 supports dual alarms. Refer to the on-screen menu for setting alarm times, alarm source (buzzer, FM, or DAB), and volume. Access the alarm settings via the MENU button.

Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows the radio to automatically turn off after a set period. This feature is accessible through the MENU button. Select the desired duration (e.g., 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes).

Equalizer Settings

Press the EQ button to cycle through five preset equalizer modes: Normal, Pop, Rock, Classic, and Jazz. Choose the mode that best suits your audio preference.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the radio. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the radio regularly, even if not in active use.
