4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the safe from its packaging. Inspect the safe for any signs of damage during transit. Report any damage to the retailer immediately.

4.2 Installing Batteries

The safe requires 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included) for the electronic lock system. The battery compartment is located behind the keypad/fingerprint module.

  1. Locate the emergency keyhole on the keypad module.
  2. Insert an emergency key and turn it to unlock the module cover.
  3. Carefully remove the module cover to expose the battery compartment.
  4. Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the module cover and secure it.

4.3 Mounting the Safe

The safe comes with pre-drilled holes and mounting hardware for secure installation to a floor or wall. It is highly recommended to secure the safe to prevent unauthorized removal.

  1. Choose a discreet and secure location for the safe.
  2. Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes on the back or bottom of the safe onto the wall or floor.
  3. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
  4. Position the safe and align the holes.
  5. Secure the safe using the provided bolts and hardware.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Opening the Safe

The safe can be opened using a fingerprint, a digital password, or an emergency key.

5.1.1 Fingerprint Access

  1. Place a registered finger on the fingerprint scanner.
  2. The safe will emit a confirmation sound (e.g., "beep") and the handle can be turned to open the door.

5.1.2 Keypad Access

  1. Wake up the keypad by touching it.
  2. Enter your 3-12 digit password followed by the "#" key.
  3. The safe will emit a confirmation sound and the handle can be turned to open the door.

5.1.3 Emergency Key Access

In case of battery failure or forgotten password/fingerprint, use the emergency key.

  1. Locate the emergency keyhole on the keypad module.
  2. Insert an emergency key and turn it to unlock the module cover.
  3. Insert the emergency key into the mechanical lock behind the module and turn it.
  4. Turn the handle to open the safe door.

5.2 Setting Passwords and Fingerprints

5.2.1 Setting the First Digital Password

The initial password is "123456". To set your first personal password:

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Wake up the keypad.
  3. Enter "00" on the keypad.
  4. Press the green setup button located on the back of the door (refer to Figure 1, item 6).
  5. Enter your desired 3-12 digit password, then press the "#" button to confirm.

5.2.2 Setting the Second Digital Password

To set a second personal password:

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Wake up the keypad.
  3. Enter "11" on the keypad.
  4. Press the green setup button located on the back of the door.
  5. Enter your desired 3-12 digit password, then press the "#" button to confirm.

5.2.3 Registering Fingerprints

The safe can store up to 30 fingerprints.

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Press the green setup button located on the back of the door.
  3. Place the finger you wish to register on the center of the fingerprint sensor.
  4. After hearing two short beeps, remove your finger and press again. Repeat this step four times for a complete registration.
  5. A long beep indicates successful registration.

5.3 Alarm System and Silent Mode

The safe is equipped with an alarm system and a silent mode feature.

5.3.1 Alarm Feature

The safe features an auto-alarm that triggers a 70dB alert upon detecting unauthorized access attempts or significant vibration. If an incorrect password is entered three times, or an incorrect fingerprint is scanned five times, the system will trigger an alarm and temporarily disable electronic access for 3 minutes. Mechanical backup keys remain functional during lockout.

5.3.2 Silent Mode

To enable or disable silent mode, enter "11#" on the keypad. This allows for quiet operation in noise-sensitive environments.

5.4 Interior Organization

The safe's interior is designed for flexible organization:

  • Adjustable Gun Racks: Three flexible gun racks can be adjusted to accommodate firearms of various sizes.
  • Removable Shelf: A removable shelf allows for storage of longer rifles (up to 56 inches) when removed, or additional storage space when installed.
  • Pistol Pouches and Ammunition Bins: Dedicated storage on the door and within the safe for pistols and ammunition.

6. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator appears. Use only 4 AA alkaline batteries.
  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not use liquids near the electronic components.
  • Lock Mechanism: Do not lubricate the lock mechanism. It is designed to be maintenance-free.
  • Security Check: Periodically check the mounting bolts to ensure they are tight and secure.
