Thank you for purchasing the ThruNite Lynx Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight. This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your device. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation and retain it for future reference.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not shine the flashlight directly into eyes. The high lumen output can cause temporary vision impairment.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not disassemble the sealed head of the flashlight, as this may damage the flashlight and void the warranty.
  • Use only the recommended battery type (1x 21700 Lithium Ion battery).
  • Ensure proper battery polarity during installation.
  • Avoid exposing the flashlight to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

4. Product Overview and Features

4.1 Exceptional Output & Beam Throw

The ThruNite Lynx delivers a maximum output of 3100 lumens, with a beam distance reaching up to 417 meters. This makes it suitable for long-range illumination in various applications, including tactical, rescue, and outdoor activities.

4.2 Tactical Dual Tail Switch

The flashlight features dual tail switches for intuitive control. One switch provides momentary-on and constant-on functions, while the other allows for output adjustment and instant strobe access.

4.3 Dual Charging Options

The Lynx offers two convenient charging methods:

  1. Hidden USB-C Charging Port: A USB-C charging port is located under a protective sleeve on the flashlight body. This design maintains water resistance while enabling fast charging.
  2. Direct Battery Charging: The included 5000mAh 21700 battery has its own integrated USB-C charging port, providing a flexible and travel-friendly backup charging option.

4.4 Discharge Function (Power Bank)

The ThruNite Lynx can function as a power bank. Its 5000mAh battery can be used to charge other electronic devices, such as phones or tablets, in emergency situations.

4.5 Lighting Modes

The flashlight offers six lighting modes plus an instant strobe:

  • Firefly
  • Low
  • Medium
  • High
  • Turbo
  • Strobe (instant access)

The memory function recalls the last-used mode (except for strobe) when the flashlight is turned on again.

4.6 Built for Harsh Conditions

Constructed from durable aluminum, the Lynx is designed to withstand challenging environments. It features anti-slip knurling for a secure grip, heat dissipation fins, and is IPX8 waterproof (submersible up to 2 meters). It also boasts 1.5-meter impact resistance.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight.
  2. Insert the included 21700 rechargeable battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight.
  3. Screw the tail cap back on tightly to ensure proper contact and water resistance.

5.2 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the battery. You can do this using either method described in Section 4.3:

  • Via Flashlight Body: Twist the collar below the head to reveal the USB-C port. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the port and a power source.
  • Via Battery: Remove the battery and connect the USB-C cable directly to the port on the battery.

The charging indicator light will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, blue/green for fully charged).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation (Main Tail Switch)

  • Momentary-On: Lightly press the larger tactical tail switch for momentary illumination. Release to turn off.
  • Constant-On/Off: Fully press the larger tactical tail switch to turn the flashlight on or off.

6.2 Mode Switching (Smaller Tail Switch)

  • When the flashlight is on, press the smaller tail switch to cycle through modes: Firefly → Low → Medium → High → Turbo.
  • Instant Strobe: From any state (on or off), long-press the smaller tail switch to activate Strobe mode. Release to return to the previous mode or turn off.

6.3 Power Bank Function

To use the flashlight as a power bank:

  1. Twist the collar below the head to reveal the USB-C port.
  2. Connect your electronic device to the flashlight's USB-C port using a compatible cable.
  3. The flashlight will begin charging your device.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Clean the flashlight body with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Keep the threads and O-rings clean.

7.2 Battery Care

  • Recharge the battery regularly, especially if not used for extended periods.
  • Store the battery in a cool, dry place.

7.3 O-ring Maintenance

Periodically lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease to maintain water resistance. Replace worn or damaged O-rings with the provided spares.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Flashlight not turning on:
    • Check if the battery is inserted correctly with the positive end facing forward.
    • Ensure the tail cap is screwed on tightly.
    • Charge the battery.
  • Intermittent operation:
    • Clean the battery contacts and flashlight threads.
    • Ensure the battery is fully charged.
  • Water ingress:
    • Check if the O-rings are properly seated and lubricated.
    • Ensure the USB-C charging port cover is securely closed.
