Introduction

The KCEVE KVM Switch is designed to allow two computers to share one HDMI monitor and up to four USB 3.0 devices, including a keyboard, mouse, printer, or scanner. Setup Instructions

1. Step 1: Connect the Monitor

   Connect your HDMI monitor to the "Monitor" HDMI output port on the KVM switch using an HDMI cable. Ensure the monitor is powered on.

2. Step 2: Connect Computers (PC1 & PC2)

   For each computer (PC1 and PC2):

   • Connect an HDMI cable from the computer's HDMI output to the corresponding "PC1" or "PC2" HDMI input port on the KVM switch.
   • Connect a USB 3.0 A-to-A cable from a USB 3.0 port on the computer to the corresponding "PC1" or "PC2" USB 3.0 input port on the KVM switch. This connection is crucial for keyboard, mouse, and other USB device functionality.

3. Step 3: Connect USB Peripherals

   Connect your keyboard, mouse, printer, U disk, or other USB 3.0 devices to the four USB 3.0 output ports on the KVM switch.

4. Step 4: Connect Wired Remote (Optional)

   If desired, connect the wired remote control cable to the "SELECT" port on the KVM switch. This allows for convenient switching from a distance.

5. Step 5: Power Connection (If needed)

   While the KVM switch can often draw power from the HDMI and USB connections, for optimal stability, especially with high-resolution displays or multiple power-hungry USB devices, connect a 5V USB power adapter (not included) to the USB-C power input port on the KVM switch.

Operating Instructions

Switching Between Computers

The KCEVE KVM Switch offers two convenient methods for switching between connected computers:

• Front Panel Button: Press the "Switch Button" located on the top of the KVM switch to toggle between PC1 and PC2. The LED indicators (1 and 2) will illuminate to show which computer is currently active.
• Wired Remote Control: Press the button on the 1.5m wired remote control to switch between PC1 and PC2. This is ideal for setups where the KVM switch itself is not easily accessible.

EDID Emulation Function

This KVM switch incorporates an EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) emulator. This feature ensures that when you switch between computers, the display settings (resolution, refresh rate, window arrangement) on the inactive computer remain consistent. This prevents issues like windows resizing or rearranging when the display signal is re-established.

Troubleshooting

• No Display/Flickering Screen:
  • Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected.
  • Verify that your monitor and computers support the selected resolution (e.g., 4K@60Hz).
  • Try using high-quality 8K-rated HDMI cables, as recommended by the manufacturer, to ensure stable signal transmission.
  • Connect an external 5V USB power adapter to the KVM switch's USB-C port for additional power stability.
• Keyboard/Mouse Not Working:
  • Ensure the USB 3.0 A-to-A cables are securely connected from both computers to the KVM switch.
  • Try connecting the keyboard and mouse to different USB ports on the KVM switch.
  • Some specialized gaming keyboards/mice with high power requirements or complex drivers may not be fully compatible. Try a standard keyboard/mouse to test.
  • Ensure the KVM switch has sufficient power, especially if using multiple USB devices.
• Windows Rearrange/Resize After Switching:
  • This KVM switch has EDID emulation to prevent this. Ensure your computer's display settings are configured correctly and that the KVM switch is receiving proper power.
  • If the issue persists, try updating your graphics drivers on both computers.
• Slow USB Transfer Speeds:
  • Ensure you are using USB 3.0 compatible devices and cables.
  • Verify that the USB 3.0 A-to-A cables are connected to USB 3.0 ports on your computers (typically blue colored ports).
