Please read all instructions carefully before operating the Breville Luxe Drip Coffee Machine and retain them for future reference. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the appliance or personal injury.
- Always ensure the appliance is properly assembled before use.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Breville may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
- Remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from your coffee machine.
- Wash the thermal carafe, filter basket, and coffee scoop in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.
3.2 Water Filter Installation
The machine includes an integrated Claro Swiss water filter to reduce impurities.
- Remove the water tank from the machine.
- Unpack the Claro Swiss water filter.
- Insert the filter into its designated holder within the water tank. Ensure it is securely seated.

3.3 First Use / Priming
Before brewing coffee, it is recommended to run a cycle with just water to flush the system.
- Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water to the MAX line.
- Place the empty filter basket and thermal carafe in position.
- Select the 'Brew' setting and start the cycle.
- Discard the water after the cycle is complete. The machine is now ready for use.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Coffee Brewing
- Fill Water Tank: Remove the water tank and fill it with fresh, cold water up to the desired level. The tank has clear markings for cup measurements. Replace the water tank securely.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place a paper filter (if using) or the mesh filter basket into the filter holder. Add your desired amount of ground coffee. Refer to the included coffee scoop for recommended measurements.
- Select Brew Mode: Ensure the thermal carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate. On the control panel, select 'Brew'.
- Start Brewing: Press the start button to begin the brewing cycle. The machine will automatically brew coffee to SCA Golden Cup standards.

4.2 Cold Brew Function
The Cold Brew preset brews a concentrated coffee base suitable for iced coffee beverages.
- Prepare the water tank and coffee grounds as for basic brewing.
- Select 'Cold Brew' on the control panel.
- Start the cycle. The machine will brew at a higher concentration. Brewing time can be as little as 30 minutes depending on water volume.
- Once complete, dilute the cold brew concentrate with water, milk, or ice to your preference.

4.3 Custom Brew Settings

- After preparing water and coffee grounds, select 'Custom' on the control panel.

4.6 Filter Basket Options
The Breville Luxe Drip Coffee Machine includes both cone and flat bottom filter options to cater to different flavor preferences.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Carafe: After each use, empty any remaining coffee and rinse the thermal carafe with warm water. Wash with mild detergent and a soft brush if necessary. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
- Filter Basket: Remove the filter basket and discard used coffee grounds and paper filter. Wash the filter basket in warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Water Tank: The removable water tank can be easily lifted for cleaning. Rinse it regularly with fresh water. The wide lid allows for easy pouring and cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.
5.2 Descaling
Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect machine performance. Descale your coffee machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.
- Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Alternatively, a solution of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio) can be used.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Run a brew cycle without coffee grounds.
- After the descaling cycle, run 2-3 cycles with fresh water to rinse the system thoroughly.
5.3 Water Filter Replacement
The Claro Swiss water filter should be replaced approximately every 2-3 months, or as indicated by the machine's filter replacement reminder (if applicable).
- Remove the old water filter from the water tank.
- Insert a new Claro Swiss water filter into the holder.
- Run a rinse cycle with fresh water after replacing the filter.
6. Troubleshooting
