Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your KCEVE KVM Switch Dual Monitor. This device allows you to control one laptop and one desktop computer using a single set of mouse and keyboard, while displaying content on two HDMI monitors. It supports various peripherals and high-resolution displays, enhancing productivity in office, home theater, and educational environments.

Product Overview

The KVM switch features multiple ports for connecting your computers, monitors, and USB peripherals. Familiarize yourself with the layout before installation.

Port Descriptions:

• PC 1 (Laptop) Input: USB-C IN (for video, data, and power delivery)
• PC 2 (Desktop) Input: HDMI INPUT A, DP INPUT B, USB 3.0 (for video and data)
• Monitor Outputs: HDMI OUT A, HDMI OUT B (connect to your two monitors)
• USB 3.0 Ports: For connecting keyboard, mouse, U-disk, printer, scanner, etc.
• USB-C PD Port: For charging the connected laptop (up to 60W).
• DC 12V Power Input: For connecting the included power adapter.
• SELECT Button: For manual switching between connected computers.
• Wired Remote Port: For connecting the external wired remote control.
• ON/OFF Switch: Main power switch for the device.

Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to connect your KVM switch and devices.

1. Connect Monitors: Connect your two HDMI monitors to the HDMI OUT A and HDMI OUT B ports on the KVM switch using HDMI cables.
2. Connect Laptop (PC 1):
   • Connect a USB-C cable from your laptop's fully functional USB-C port (which supports video output, data, and power delivery) to the USB-C IN port on the KVM switch.
   • Note: Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports extended display capabilities.
3. Connect Desktop PC (PC 2):
   • Connect an HDMI cable from your desktop PC's HDMI output to the HDMI INPUT A port on the KVM switch.
   • Connect a DisplayPort (DP) cable from your desktop PC's DisplayPort output to the DP INPUT B port on the KVM switch.
   • Connect a USB 3.0 cable from your desktop PC's USB 3.0 port to the USB 3.0 input port (labeled PC 2) on the KVM switch.
   • Note: An optional USB-C to HDMI adapter can be used if your desktop PC lacks a DisplayPort output but has a compatible USB-C port.
4. Connect USB Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, U-disk, printer, or other USB 3.0 devices to the available USB 3.0 ports on the front of the KVM switch.
5. Connect Wired Remote (Optional): Plug the wired remote control into the dedicated port on the KVM switch for convenient switching.
6. Connect Power: Plug the DC 12V power adapter into the DC 12V port on the KVM switch and then into a power outlet.
7. Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position. The LED indicators will light up, showing the active computer.

Laptop Charging (PD 60W):

If your laptop supports USB-C Power Delivery, you can connect your laptop's Type-C charging cable to the PD port on the KVM switch. When your laptop is connected to the KVM's USB-C IN port, the KVM switch can provide up to 60W of charging power to your laptop.

Operating Instructions

Switching Between Computers:

The KVM switch offers two convenient methods for switching between the connected laptop and desktop PC:

• Panel Button: Press the "SELECT" button on the front panel of the KVM switch to toggle between PC 1 (Laptop) and PC 2 (Desktop).
• Wired Remote Control: Use the included 1.5m wired remote control to switch between computers from your desk.

Display Modes:

The KVM switch supports various display modes depending on your operating system.

• Windows Laptops and Desktops: You can press "Windows + P" to select between mirror mode (duplicate displays), extended screen mode (separate displays), or splicing wall mode.
• Mac OS Laptops: Mac OS does not support Multi-Stream Transport (MST) for external displays. Therefore, Mac OS laptops will output two identical screens (mirror mode) to the connected monitors.

USB 3.0 Data Transfer:

The KVM switch's USB 3.0 ports support ultra-fast data transmission speeds up to 5Gbps, ensuring quick file transfers and responsive peripheral usage. It is backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1 devices.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your KVM switch, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Avoid using liquid cleaners or aerosols, as they may damage the internal components.
• Ventilation: Ensure the KVM switch is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
• Cable Management: Keep cables organized and untangled to prevent strain on ports and accidental disconnections.
• Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, disconnect all cables and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
