Introduction
The iRobot Roomba 104 Vac Robot Vacuum is designed for efficient dry floor cleaning. Its 3-stage cleaning system provides high-performance cleaning by combining intense power-lifting suction, an edge-sweeping brush, and a multi-surface brush to effectively pick up dirt and debris. ClearView LiDAR technology enables quick home mapping for precise coverage, allowing the robot to navigate smoothly around obstacles and avoid stairs. Control your Roomba via the iRobot Home App, robot buttons, or voice assistant-enabled devices for convenient, on-demand cleaning.
What's in the Box
- 1 Roomba 104 Vac Robot
- 1 Charge Only Dock
Setup
Follow these steps to set up your iRobot Roomba 104 Vac Robot Vacuum for the first time:
- Place the Charging Dock: Select a location for the Charge Only Dock against a wall, ensuring there are no obstacles for at least 1.5 feet (0.5 meters) on either side and 4 feet (1.2 meters) in front. Plug the power cord into the dock and then into a wall outlet.
- Charge the Robot: Place your Roomba robot onto the charging dock. Ensure the metal charging contacts on the robot align with those on the dock. The light indicator on the robot will illuminate to confirm charging. Allow the robot to fully charge before its first use.
- Install Side Brush: If not pre-installed, gently push the side brush onto the square post on the bottom of the robot until it clicks into place.
- Download the iRobot Home App: Download the iRobot Home App from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Roomba to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The app will guide you through initial setup and mapping.
- Initial Mapping Run: Once charged and connected, initiate a mapping run through the app. This allows the ClearView LiDAR to quickly map your home for efficient cleaning paths.

- Start/Pause/Resume Cleaning: Press the CLEAN button on the robot to start a cleaning cycle. Press it again to pause. To resume, press CLEAN once more.
- Using the iRobot Home App: The app provides comprehensive control. You can set custom cleaning schedules, target specific rooms, define keep-out zones, adjust cleaning passes, and modify suction power levels. The app also offers time estimates for cleaning tasks and monitors filter life.
- Voice Assistant Control: Connect your Roomba to Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant-enabled devices to start, stop, or schedule cleaning using voice commands.
- Spot Cleaning: For concentrated cleaning of small, heavily soiled areas, use the spot cleaning feature. The robot will repeatedly clean a specific area for up to 5 minutes.
- Automatic Recharge and Resume: The Roomba is designed to return to its charging dock when its battery is low. Once sufficiently recharged, it will automatically resume cleaning from where it left off to complete the task.
