5.2 Solar LED Lights Operation
The umbrella is equipped with solar-powered LED lights.
- Ensure the solar panel on top of the umbrella receives direct sunlight during the day for optimal charging.
- Locate the switch on one of the umbrella ribs (usually near the main pole). Flip the switch to turn the LED lights ON or OFF.
- The lights will automatically turn on at dusk if the switch is in the 'ON' position and sufficient charge is available.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Canopy: Clean the polyester canopy with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before closing or storing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Cleaning the Frame: Wipe the steel frame with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
- Storage: During off-season or prolonged periods of non-use, close the umbrella, secure it with the strap, and store it in a dry, protected area to prolong its lifespan. Consider using a protective cover (not included) for added protection.
- Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free of dust or obstructions to ensure efficient charging.
7. Troubleshooting
- Umbrella is unstable: Ensure the base is properly assembled and the sandbags are filled and correctly placed. Verify that the main pole is securely tightened in the base.
- LED lights not working: Check if the solar panel is clean and receiving direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours. Ensure the light switch is in the 'ON' position. If issues persist, the battery may need replacement (refer to manufacturer for battery type and replacement instructions).
- Crank handle is stiff: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts of the crank mechanism. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt.
