1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Electactic Espresso Machine CM8057-SILVER-R2. This 20-bar espresso maker is designed to deliver high-quality espresso, cappuccino, latte, and even cold brew beverages. 2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

  • Read all instructions.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.

  • Scalding may occur if the water tank lid is removed during the brewing cycle.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the espresso machine and its accessories.
  2. Check that all components listed in the "Product Overview" section are present and undamaged.

4.2 Placement

  • Place the machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and heat.
  • Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for ventilation and access to the water tank and steam wand.

4.3 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Remove the water tank from the back of the machine by lifting it upwards.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold, filtered water up to the MAX line. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  3. Place the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is securely seated.

4.4 Initial Cleaning / Priming

Before first use, it is recommended to run a cleaning cycle to flush out any manufacturing residues.

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Insert the portafilter (without coffee) into the group head and lock it into place.
  3. Place a large cup or container under the portafilter and the steam wand.
  4. Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Press the power button to turn on the machine. Allow it to pre-heat until the indicator light stops flashing (or the display shows ready).
  6. Press the single shot button to run water through the group head for about 30 seconds.
  7. Turn the steam knob to release steam through the steam wand for about 30 seconds.
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 a few times.
  9. Discard the water and rinse the cup. Your machine is now primed and ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is pre-heated.
  2. Select the appropriate filter basket (single or double) and place it into the portafilter.
  3. Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine consistency suitable for espresso.
  4. Fill the filter basket with ground coffee. For a single shot, use approximately 7-9g; for a double shot, use 14-18g.
  5. Use the coffee tamper to press the ground coffee firmly and evenly. Ensure the surface is level.
  6. Wipe any excess coffee grounds from the rim of the portafilter.
  7. Insert the portafilter into the group head and twist it firmly to the right until it locks into place.
  8. Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray, directly under the portafilter spouts.
  9. Press the single or double shot button on the control panel. The machine will begin brewing.
  10. The Smart LED display will show the brewing progress. Once the desired amount of espresso is dispensed, the machine will stop automatically.
  11. Carefully remove the portafilter by twisting it to the left. Discard the used coffee grounds (puck).

5.2 Using the Steam Wand for Milk Frothing

  1. Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to just below the spout.
  2. Press the steam button on the control panel. Wait for the machine to reach steaming temperature (indicator light will stabilize).
  3. Purge the steam wand: Position the steam wand over the drip tray and briefly open the steam knob to release any condensed water. Close the knob.
  4. Insert the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk in the pitcher.
  5. Open the steam knob fully. Hold the pitcher at an angle, moving it slightly up and down to incorporate air and create foam.
  6. Once the milk has reached the desired temperature and consistency (typically 60-70°C or 140-160°F), close the steam knob.
  7. Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your espresso machine and ensure consistent coffee quality.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard the coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under hot water. Use the cleaning brush to remove any stubborn residues.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. After wiping, briefly open the steam knob to purge any milk residue from inside the wand.
  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily or when the indicator floats up.
  • Water Tank: Empty any remaining water from the tank and rinse it daily. Refill with fresh water before next use.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

6.2 Descaling

Descaling is essential to remove mineral buildup and maintain optimal machine performance. The frequency depends on your water hardness and usage, but typically every 2-3 months.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., a commercial descaler or a mixture of white vinegar and water).
  2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  3. Place a large container under the group head and the steam wand.
  4. Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
  5. Run approximately half of the descaling solution through the group head by pressing the brew button.
  6. Run the remaining half of the solution through the steam wand.
  7. Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
  8. Empty the water tank and rinse it thoroughly with fresh water.
  9. Refill the tank with fresh water and run several full tanks of water through both the group head and steam wand to rinse out any descaling solution residue.
