Model: M16 ACE

Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your SEESII 40V 16-Inch Cordless Chainsaw. Please read this manual thoroughly before initial use and retain it for future reference. Understanding and following these instructions will ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your tool.

Safety Information

Operating a chainsaw can be hazardous. Always prioritize safety by following these guidelines:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection, heavy-duty gloves, and appropriate footwear. Consider a hard hat and leg protection (chaps) for extensive work.
  • Work Area: Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, pets, and obstacles. Maintain a firm footing and balance.
  • Inspect Before Use: Before each use, inspect the chainsaw for loose parts, damage, or wear. Ensure the chain is sharp and properly tensioned, and the oil reservoir is filled.
  • Battery Safety: Use only SEESII 40V batteries and chargers. Do not expose batteries to extreme temperatures or moisture. Disconnect the battery when not in use, during maintenance, or when adjusting the chain.
  • Kickback Prevention: Be aware of kickback, which can occur when the moving chain at the upper quadrant of the guide bar contacts an object. Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
  • Triple Safety System: Your chainsaw is equipped with a safety lock, chain brake, and overload protection. Understand how these features work and use them correctly.

Setup Instructions

  1. Battery Charging: Insert the 40V 4.0Ah batteries into the fast chargers. Connect the chargers to a standard power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. Ensure batteries are fully charged before first use. Allow batteries to cool if they become hot during use before recharging.
  2. Chain and Bar Installation (if not pre-assembled): Refer to the diagram for proper chain direction and bar placement. Ensure the chain is correctly seated in the guide bar groove and around the sprocket.
  3. Tool-Free Chain Tensioning: Locate the tensioning knob on the side of the chainsaw. Rotate the knob to adjust the chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar, but still allow you to pull it freely with a gloved hand. A new chain may stretch and require frequent re-tensioning during initial use.Close-up image of a hand adjusting the blue tool-free chain tensioning knob on the side of the chainsaw.

  4. Automatic Oiling System: Locate the oil reservoir cap. Fill the reservoir with appropriate bar and chain oil. The chainsaw features an automatic oiling system to ensure consistent chain lubrication during operation. Regularly check the oil level and refill as needed.Close-up image of the chainsaw's oil reservoir being filled with bar and chain oil, showing the 150ml capacity.

Operating Instructions

Before operating, ensure all safety precautions are understood and followed.

  1. Starting the Chainsaw: Insert a charged 40V battery into the battery slot until it clicks into place. Engage the safety lock button, then press the trigger to start the chainsaw. Release the safety lock once the chain begins to move.
  2. Cutting Techniques:
    • Felling Small Trees: Plan your escape path before cutting. Make a notch cut on the side of the tree in the direction of the fall, then make a felling cut from the opposite side, slightly above the notch.
    • Limbing: Work from the bottom up, removing smaller branches first. Be aware of branches under tension that may spring back.
    • Bucking (Cutting Logs): Support the log to prevent pinching the chain. Cut logs up to 14 inches thick with ease.

  3. Chain Brake: The chain brake is a safety feature designed to stop the chain rapidly in case of kickback or emergency. Push the chain brake lever forward to engage it. Pull it back towards the handle to disengage.
  4. Stopping the Chainsaw: Release the trigger. The chain will stop. Engage the chain brake and remove the battery when finished or before any adjustments.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw.

  1. Chain Lubrication: The automatic oiling system requires regular monitoring. Check the bar and chain oil level before each use and refill as necessary. Use only recommended bar and chain oil.
  2. Chain Sharpening: A sharp chain is crucial for efficient and safe cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly using a round file appropriate for the chain size. Refer to specific chain sharpening guides for detailed instructions.
  3. Cleaning: After each use, clean the chainsaw thoroughly. Remove sawdust, wood chips, and debris from the guide bar, chain, sprocket cover, and motor housing. Ensure ventilation openings are clear.
  4. Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store fully discharged batteries. Charge them periodically if not used for extended periods.
  5. Storage: Store the chainsaw with the protective cover installed on the guide bar and chain. Remove the battery before storage.
