What's in the Box
- 1 x Stemedu BLS-HV70MG Servo
- Assorted Servo Horns (plastic and aluminum)
- Mounting Hardware (screws, brass inserts)
Setup
- Mounting: Securely mount the servo in your RC model using the provided screws and brass inserts. Ensure the servo is firmly seated to prevent movement during operation.
- Connecting: Connect the servo's signal wire to the appropriate channel on your receiver. Ensure the polarity is correct (signal, positive, negative). If using a high-voltage setup (above 6.0V), ensure your receiver and BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) can handle the voltage or use an external BEC.
- Attaching Servo Horn: With the servo connected and powered on (and the RC system centered), carefully attach the desired servo horn to the output shaft. Ensure the horn is centered before tightening the screw. Choose a servo horn appropriate for your application; the kit includes various plastic and an aluminum horn.
- Initial Calibration: Power on your RC transmitter and receiver. Verify that the servo responds correctly to steering inputs. Adjust end-points and sub-trim on your transmitter as needed to achieve the desired range of motion and center position without binding.

This image shows the Stemedu BLS-HV70MG servo with different types of servo horns, illustrating the variety of attachments available for different applications.
Operating
- Voltage Range: The servo operates within a voltage range of 4.8V to 8.4V. For optimal performance and torque, an 8.4V (2S LiPo) power source is recommended.
- Control Angle: The servo provides a 270° control angle when the PWM signal ranges from 500µs to 2500µs. Ensure your RC system is configured to utilize this full range if desired.
- Environmental Use: Due to its IP67 waterproof rating, the servo is designed to operate in wet conditions. However, prolonged submersion or exposure to corrosive liquids should be avoided. After use in wet conditions, it is recommended to clean and dry the exterior of the servo.

This image visually represents the 270-degree range of motion of the servo, showing how the control arm rotates within this angle.
Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the servo for any signs of damage, loose connections, or excessive wear on the gears.
- Cleaning: Keep the servo clean from dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air for cleaning. For wet conditions, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly.
- Gear Check: While the gears are metal, inspect them for any play or grinding noises. If issues arise, consider professional inspection or replacement.
- Waterproofing Seal: Ensure the seals around the casing remain intact, especially after impacts or prolonged use in harsh environments, to maintain its IP67 rating.
Troubleshooting
- Servo Not Responding:
- Check all connections to the receiver and power source.
- Verify the receiver and transmitter are powered on and bound.
- Ensure the battery has sufficient charge.
- Test with a different servo or receiver channel if possible.
- Erratic Movement/Glitching:
- Check for radio interference.
- Ensure power supply is stable and sufficient (consider a BEC if voltage drops).
- Inspect wiring for damage.
- Check for mechanical binding in the linkage.
- Overheating:
- Ensure the servo is not under constant load or binding.
- Verify operating voltage is within specified limits.
- Check for proper ventilation around the servo.
- Excessive Noise:
- Some digital servos produce a slight buzzing sound; this is normal.
- Loud grinding or clicking may indicate gear damage or binding. Inspect gears and linkages.
