5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the devices with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure no moisture enters the ports or microphone grilles.
5.2 Storage
When not in use, store the transmitters and receiver in the charging case. Keep the charging case and its contents in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
5.3 Furry Windshields
Attach the furry windshields to the transmitters when recording outdoors or in windy conditions to minimize wind noise. Remove them when not needed for indoor use.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Sound/Low Volume:
- Ensure the receiver is fully inserted into your device's port.
- Check your device's audio input settings to confirm the external microphone is selected.
- Verify that the transmitters are powered on and paired (indicated by LED status).
- Adjust the gain level via the LarkSound app.
- Intermittent Connection/Dropouts:
- Ensure the distance between the transmitter and receiver is within the specified 200m (650ft) range.
- Minimize obstacles (walls, large metal objects) between the transmitter and receiver.
- Avoid areas with strong Wi-Fi or other 2.4GHz interference.
- Poor Audio Quality/Distortion:
- Check if noise cancellation is set too high for the environment, which can sometimes affect natural sound.
- Ensure the furry windshields are properly installed in windy conditions.
- Adjust EQ settings in the LarkSound app.
- The auto-limit clip protection should prevent distortion from loud sounds, but ensure the gain is not excessively high.
- Device Not Charging:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the charging case and the power source.
- Try a different USB-C cable or power adapter.
- Clean the charging contacts on the transmitters and inside the charging case.
