2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Unpacking and Initial Placement

Carefully remove the ThinkRider X2Max trainer from its packaging. Place the trainer on a flat, stable surface, preferably on a training mat to protect your floor and reduce noise. The trainer features a large handle for easy portability.

2.2 Connecting Your Bicycle

The X2Max trainer is designed for easy installation and is suitable for most bicycles. It supports both quick release (5*130/5*135) and thru-axle (12*142/12*148) frame types. Ensure you use the correct adapters provided for your bicycle's frame type.

For cassette compatibility, the trainer supports Shimano HG 8-12 speed, SRAM 8-11 speed, and SRAM XDR 12 speed cassettes (XDR hub needed for SRAM XDR). Install your bicycle's rear wheel onto the trainer, ensuring it is securely fastened.

3.1 Power and Resistance Features

The X2Max Smart Bike Trainer utilizes a DEPT dynamic electromagnetic torque power meter, providing powerful and accurate power output up to 2000W with a power meter error of only ±2%. It intelligently simulates a tilt resistance of up to 18%, automatically adjusting to match the incline of virtual routes in your cycling software for a realistic experience.

3.2 Connectivity and Software

The X2Max supports BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and ANT+ dual mode protocols, ensuring strong compatibility with mainstream cycling software. This includes popular platforms such as Zwift, Onelap, Kinomap, BKOOL Cycling, Rouvy, Wahoo SYSTM, FulGaz, and TrainerRoad. Simply connect your trainer to your preferred application via Bluetooth or ANT+ to begin your virtual rides.

Designed for quiet operation, the X2Max smart trainer produces minimal noise. At a running speed of 30km/h, the noise level is approximately 58dB, ensuring your indoor training sessions do not disturb others.

3.4 Riding Modes

The X2Max offers flexible riding options:

  • Plug-in Mode: When connected to a power source, the motor actively simulates drag for a more realistic downhill experience and enhanced resistance control.
  • Unplugged Mode: The self-powered feature allows you to ride anywhere without the need for an external power source, offering convenience and flexibility.

4. Maintenance
