4. Setup and Assembly
Assembly typically requires two adults and can be completed in under 20 minutes. Follow these steps carefully:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Lay them out on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches.
- Assemble the Cross Base: Connect the cross base sections using the provided hardware. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely. Note: The cross base requires additional weights (e.g., sandbags, concrete slabs) for stability, which are not included. Ensure the base is adequately weighted before proceeding.
- Attach the Main Pole: Insert the main pole into the center of the assembled cross base. Secure it with the appropriate bolts and tighten firmly.
- Mount the Canopy Assembly: Carefully lift the umbrella canopy assembly and attach it to the main pole. Ensure it clicks into place or is secured with the designated locking mechanism.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your Devoko umbrella.
- Cleaning the Canopy: The canopy is made from 210G polyester with a PU coating, making it resistant to light, water, and UV rays. Clean the canopy regularly with a soft brush and mild soap solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow it to air dry completely before closing or storing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Frame Care: The aluminum frame is rust-resistant. Wipe it down with a damp cloth as needed. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution and rinse well.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, or during adverse weather, close the umbrella and secure it with the velcro straps. Use the provided protective storage cover to shield the canopy and frame from dust, dirt, and environmental elements. This will significantly prolong its lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting
- Umbrella is unstable: Ensure the cross base is adequately weighted with heavy objects (e.g., sandbags, concrete slabs). Check that all base and pole connections are tight.
- Difficulty opening/closing the canopy: Inspect the crank mechanism and support arms for any obstructions (e.g., fabric caught, debris). Ensure the mechanism is clean and free of rust. Apply a silicone-based lubricant if necessary.
- Canopy not providing full shade: Adjust the umbrella's angle and rotation using the designated mechanisms to optimize shade coverage throughout the day.
- Water pooling on canopy: Ensure the canopy is fully taut when open. If pooling persists, check for any sagging in the fabric or bent support arms.
