1. Product Overview

The JEYI Quad 2280 NVMe Enclosure is designed to expand storage capacity and enhance data transfer speeds. It supports up to four 2280 NVMe SSDs, offering a total capacity of up to 32 TB. This enclosure is compatible with USB4 40Gbps and backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 interfaces, providing versatile connectivity options for various computing platforms.

3. Product Features

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your NVMe SSDs into the JEYI Quad Enclosure:

1. Open the Enclosure: Carefully slide open the enclosure to reveal the M.2 SSD slots.
2. Insert SSDs: Insert your 2280 NVMe SSDs into the available slots. Ensure they are seated correctly.
3. Secure SSDs: Use the provided silicone plugs or screws to fix the SSDs firmly in place.
4. Apply Thermal Pads: Place the silicone heat dissipating pads and aluminum thermal pads onto the installed SSDs to ensure optimal heat transfer to the enclosure.
5. Close the Enclosure: Slide the enclosure cover back into place until it clicks securely.
6. Connect Power: Connect the included 12V 5A power adapter to the enclosure. A 60W power adapter is required for proper functionality.
7. Connect to Host Device: Use the 50 cm USB4/Thunderbolt 4 cable to connect the enclosure to your computer.

5. Operating Instructions

RAID Configuration

The JEYI Quad NVMe Enclosure supports various RAID modes to suit your needs for speed, redundancy, or combined capacity. These modes include RAID 0 (Striping), RAID 1 (Mirroring), RAID 5 (Striping with Parity), and JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks).

RAID setup is software-based and can be configured using your operating system's built-in tools:

• macOS: Use RAID Assistant.
• Windows: Use Storage Spaces.
• Linux: Use mdraid/mdadm.

Refer to your operating system's documentation for detailed instructions on setting up RAID volumes.

General Usage

Once configured, the enclosure operates as a Plug & Play device. Connect it to your computer via the USB4/Thunderbolt 4 cable. The LED indicators on the enclosure will provide real-time status updates for power and individual drive activity.

6. Maintenance

The aluminum alloy casing of the enclosure is designed for effective heat dissipation. It is normal for the casing to feel slightly warm during operation, especially under heavy load, as it actively transfers heat away from the SSDs. The surface safe temperature is up to 75°C (~167°F).

• Ventilation: For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to use the enclosure in a well-ventilated environment.
• Cooling Accessories: The enclosure can be paired with an external cooling fan for enhanced thermal management during prolonged heavy use.

7. Troubleshooting

• Device Not Recognized/Slow Speeds on AMD Systems: While fully compatible with Intel and Apple systems, the Quad Enclosure (ASM2464PDX) may experience issues with some AMD-based devices, primarily limited to their USB4.0 and Thunderbolt interfaces. Standard USB 3.2 ports on AMD systems are unaffected and will function normally. We strongly recommend AMD users verify compatibility with their specific hardware before purchase.
• Enclosure Feels Warm: The aluminum alloy casing may feel slightly warm due to heat conduction. This is a normal function of the enclosure's heat dissipation design and is not a quality issue. The surface safe temperature is 75°C (~167°F).
• RAID Configuration Issues: Ensure all target drives have a capacity larger than the source drive when performing cloning operations, otherwise, the clone may fail. For RAID setup, refer to your operating system's specific tools (RAID Assistant for macOS, Storage Spaces for Windows, mdraid/mdadm for Linux).
