Setup and Installation
This section provides general instructions for installing the Menabò OMEGA Black roof bars on vehicles with a smooth roof. Always refer to the detailed instructions provided in your product packaging for vehicle-specific guidance.
- Prepare the Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle roof is clean and dry. Identify the designated mounting points on your vehicle's roof. These are typically indicated in your car's owner manual or by small markings on the roof itself.
- Assemble the Bars: Attach the mounting feet to the steel profiles of the roof bars. Ensure the feet are oriented correctly according to the vehicle's roof curvature and the specific instructions.
- Position the Bars: Carefully place the assembled roof bars onto the vehicle's roof, aligning the mounting feet with the designated attachment points.
- Secure the Clamps: Using the provided tools, tighten the clamping mechanism of each foot. The "Ganascia" (clamp) system is designed to grip the vehicle's door frame or specific roof edge. Tighten evenly and progressively on both sides until the bars are firmly secured. Do not overtighten.
- Final Check: After initial tightening, gently attempt to move the roof bars to ensure they are completely stable and do not shift. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Install Anti-Theft (Optional): If you have the optional anti-theft kit, install the lock cylinders into the mounting feet as per the kit's instructions.

Operating Instructions
Once installed, the Menabò OMEGA roof bars are ready for use.
- Loading: Place your cargo (e.g., luggage, sports equipment) onto the roof bars. Ensure the weight is distributed as evenly as possible.
- Securing Cargo: Always use appropriate straps, nets, or other securing devices to firmly attach your cargo to the roof bars. Ensure there is no movement of the cargo during transit.
- Driving: Drive cautiously, especially at higher speeds, in strong winds, or when cornering. The added weight and aerodynamic drag can affect vehicle handling and fuel consumption.
- Unloading: Remove cargo carefully, ensuring not to damage the vehicle's paintwork or the roof bars.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and safe operation of your roof bars.
- Cleaning: Clean the roof bars regularly with mild soap and water, especially after exposure to road salt or harsh weather conditions. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all components for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Check that all bolts and clamps are tight.
- Storage: When not in use, it is recommended to remove the roof bars from your vehicle to reduce wind noise and improve fuel efficiency. Store them in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
Roof bars are loose after installation:
Re-check all clamping points. Ensure they are correctly positioned and tightened evenly. If the issue persists, consult the detailed manual or contact customer support.
Excessive wind noise:
Ensure the bars are installed correctly and all components are tightly secured. Wind noise is common with roof bars, but excessive noise might indicate improper installation or an issue with cargo. Consider removing the bars when not in use.
Difficulty installing on vehicle:
Verify that the roof bars are compatible with your specific vehicle model and year (Volkswagen Up! 5-door, 2011 onwards). Ensure you are following the vehicle-specific instructions for mounting points.
