This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your GEEKOM A5 Mini PC. The GEEKOM A5 is a compact and powerful mini-computer designed for various applications, from office tasks to multimedia and light gaming. It features an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, offering robust performance in a small form factor.

2. Setup Guide
2.1. Package Contents
Before you begin, ensure all items are present in the package:
- GEEKOM A5 Mini PC
- Power Adapter
- HDMI Cable
- VESA Mount (with screws)
- User Manual (this document)

2.2. Connecting Peripherals
Follow these steps to connect your GEEKOM A5 Mini PC:
- Connect Display: Use the provided HDMI cable to connect your monitor or TV to one of the HDMI ports on the Mini PC. Alternatively, use a USB-C or Mini DisplayPort for other display options. The system supports up to four displays simultaneously at 8K 60Hz or 4K 120Hz.
- Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Plug your USB keyboard and mouse into the available USB ports.
- Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the DC power input port on the Mini PC, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
- Power On: Press the power button located on the front of the Mini PC.

2.3. Initial Boot and Operating System
The GEEKOM A5 Mini PC comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. Upon first boot, you will be guided through the Windows setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your language, region, network, and user account.

The Mini PC is also compatible with other operating systems such as Windows 10/11 and various Linux distributions, offering flexibility for advanced users.
2.4. VESA Mount Installation
The included VESA mount allows you to attach the Mini PC to the back of a compatible monitor or TV, saving desk space. Secure the VESA plate to your display using the provided screws, then slide the Mini PC onto the mount until it clicks into place.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Performance Overview
The GEEKOM A5 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor (6 cores/12 threads, up to 4.3 GHz, Zen 3 architecture) and AMD Radeon Vega 7 graphics. This configuration provides efficient performance for multitasking, advanced office applications, 4K streaming, content creation, and light gaming. The system operates with a low TDP of 15W, balancing power with energy efficiency.

3.2. Multi-Display Configuration
The Mini PC supports connecting up to four displays simultaneously, with resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz, using its HDMI, USB-C, and Mini DisplayPort outputs. This capability is ideal for multi-screen workstations, data analysis, video editing, presentations, and home theater setups.

3.3. Network and Wireless Connectivity
The GEEKOM A5 features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, along with a high-performance 3D antenna, ensuring fast and stable connections for video conferencing, wireless peripherals, and file transfers. A 2.5G LAN port is also available for wired network connections.

3.4. Performance Modes
The Mini PC offers three performance modes (Silent, Normal, Performance) that can be adjusted via the BIOS or Windows settings. These modes allow you to balance power consumption, temperature, and fan noise according to your usage needs.
3.5. Quiet Operation
Designed for quiet operation, the GEEKOM A5 produces less than 32 dB of noise, making it suitable for offices, open-plan workspaces, meeting rooms, and home use where a quiet environment is desired.

4. Maintenance and Upgrades
4.1. Memory (RAM) Upgrade
The GEEKOM A5 comes with 16GB of DDR4 dual-slot RAM, which can be expanded up to 64GB. To upgrade the RAM:
- Power off the Mini PC and disconnect all cables.
- Carefully open the chassis (refer to the detailed instructions in the included user guide for specific steps).
- Locate the DDR4 SO-DIMM slots.
- Gently unclip the existing RAM modules (if any) and insert the new modules, ensuring they are seated correctly.
- Close the chassis and reconnect the cables.
4.2. Storage (SSD/HDD) Expansion
The Mini PC includes a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD, expandable up to 4TB. It also features an M.2 2242 slot and a 2.5" HDD/SSD bay, allowing for flexible storage expansion up to 2TB for the M.2 2242 and 4TB for the 2.5" drive. A Micro SD card reader supports cards up to 2TB.
To expand storage:
- Power off the Mini PC and disconnect all cables.
- Open the chassis.
- For NVMe SSD: Locate the M.2 2280 slot and install the new SSD.
- For M.2 2242 SSD: Locate the M.2 2242 slot and install the new SSD.
- For 2.5" HDD/SSD: Install the drive into the dedicated bay and connect the SATA power and data cables.
- Close the chassis and reconnect the cables.

4.3. Cooling System
The GEEKOM A5 features an efficient IceBlast 2.0 cooling system with honeycomb vents, reinforced heat pipes, a large heatsink, and a high-efficiency fan. This design ensures stable operation without overheating, even under heavy loads. Regular cleaning of the vents can help maintain optimal cooling performance.

5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your GEEKOM A5 Mini PC.
5.1. No Power / System Not Starting
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet.
- Verify the power button is pressed firmly.
- Test the power outlet with another device to confirm it is functional.
- If using a power strip, ensure it is switched on.
5.2. No Display Output
- Check that the HDMI, USB-C, or Mini DisplayPort cable is securely connected to both the Mini PC and the monitor.
- Ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input source.
- Try a different display cable or monitor to rule out faulty equipment.
- Restart the Mini PC.
5.3. System Slowdown or Overheating
- Ensure the Mini PC's vents are not obstructed to allow proper airflow.
- Clean any dust accumulation from the vents using compressed air.
- Check background processes in Windows Task Manager to identify any resource-intensive applications.
- Adjust the performance mode to "Normal" or "Silent" via BIOS or Windows settings if high performance is not required, to reduce heat and noise.
5.4. Network Connectivity Issues
- Wi-Fi: Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled in Windows settings. Restart your router and the Mini PC. Check if other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network.
- Wired LAN: Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the Mini PC and your router/modem. Check the router's status lights.
- Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled in Windows settings. Try re-pairing your Bluetooth device.
