3. Setup and Assembly

The VonHaus 1800W Electric Corded Lawn Mower requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps to prepare your mower for use:

1. Handle Assembly: Unfold the main handle and secure it in place. Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged. The handle height can be adjusted for comfortable operation.
2. Grass Collection Bag: Assemble the grass collection bag if it came disassembled. Attach it securely to the rear of the mower.
3. Mulching Plug (Optional): If you intend to use the mulching function, insert the mulching plug into the rear discharge opening. This diverts clippings back into the blade area for finer shredding.
4. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to a suitable outdoor power outlet. Ensure the cable is routed safely to avoid accidental cutting.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Before Starting

• Inspect the lawn for any objects (stones, toys, wires) that could be thrown by the blades.
• Ensure the power cord is in good condition and positioned to avoid being cut.
• Wear appropriate safety gear, including sturdy footwear and eye protection.

4.2 Adjusting Cutting Height

The mower offers 5 cutting height settings, ranging from 25 mm to 70 mm. To adjust the height:

1. Ensure the mower is switched off and unplugged.
2. Locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the mower.
3. Lift the lever and move it to the desired position. The settings are clearly marked (25mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 70mm).
4. Release the lever to lock it into place.

4.3 Starting and Mowing

1. Press and hold the safety button, then pull the operating lever towards the handle. The motor will start.
2. Release the safety button but continue to hold the operating lever to keep the mower running.
3. Push the mower forward in overlapping strips. For best results, mow in straight lines.
4. When the grass collection bag is full (indicated by the integrated indicator), switch off the mower, unplug it, and empty the bag.

4.4 Mulching Function

To use the mulching function, ensure the mulching plug is correctly installed. The mower will then finely chop the grass clippings and return them to the lawn, acting as a natural fertilizer. This eliminates the need to empty the grass bag.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your lawn mower.

• Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the power and clean the mower deck, blades, and grass bag. Use a brush or damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure water or solvents.
• Blade Inspection: Periodically check the blade for sharpness and damage. A dull or damaged blade can affect cutting performance and mower balance. Replace if necessary.
• Storage: When not in use, clean the mower thoroughly. Fold the handles to save space and store the mower in a dry, secure location away from direct sunlight and moisture.
