5. Setup

5.1 Butane Refilling

1. Ensure the tool is completely cool and the flame control is set to the 'OFF' position.
2. Hold the tool upside down.
3. Insert the nozzle of a high-quality butane gas canister into the filling valve at the base of the tool.
4. Press firmly for approximately 10-15 seconds. A slight hiss indicates the tank is filling. Do not overfill.
5. Wait a few minutes after refilling for the gas to stabilize before ignition.

Note: Butane gas is not included with the tool.

5.2 Attaching Accessories

1. Ensure the tool is cool and turned off.
2. Select the desired accessory tip for your application.
3. Carefully screw or push the accessory onto the metal shaft at the front of the tool until it is secure. Do not overtighten.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Ignition

2. Slide the safety lock to the 'UNLOCKED' position.
3. Press and hold the ignition trigger. You should hear a click and see a flame.
4. Release the trigger once the flame is established.

6.2 Flame Control

Rotate the flame control dial to adjust the flame size and temperature according to your application needs. Turn clockwise for a larger flame and higher temperature, counter-clockwise for a smaller flame and lower temperature.

6.3 Flame Lock

For continuous operation, press the ignition trigger and then slide the flame lock button forward. This will keep the flame active without needing to hold the trigger. To turn off, slide the flame lock button back and then turn the flame control dial to 'OFF'.

The VersaTip 2000-7 is suitable for:
