4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Install Batteries in the Timer Unit
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the irrigation timer.
- Insert 2 AA alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment securely to maintain water resistance.
4.2 Connect the Timer to Your Faucet
- Ensure the faucet is turned off.
- Thread the irrigation timer onto your outdoor faucet. Hand-tighten only.
- If necessary, use the provided 1/2" adapter for compatibility with your faucet size.
- Connect your garden hose to the outlet of the irrigation timer.
4.3 Install and Pair the WiFi Gateway
- Plug the WiFi gateway into a standard power outlet indoors, within range of your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Download the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register or log in to your account in the app.
- In the app, add a new device. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the gateway to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Once the gateway is connected, add the irrigation timer as a sub-device within the app. The app will guide you through the pairing process.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 App Control and Scheduling
Use the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app to create and manage your watering schedules.
- Open the app and select your irrigation timer.
- Navigate to the 'Schedule' section.
- Set start times, watering duration, and frequency (e.g., specific days of the week, every day, or every few days). Up to 5 irrigation plans can be set.
- Save your schedule. The timer will operate automatically based on these settings.

5.2 Manual Watering
For immediate watering outside of scheduled times, use the manual watering function.
- In the app, select the timer and choose the 'Manual' option.
- Set the desired duration for manual watering (up to 11 hours and 59 minutes).
- The timer will start watering immediately and stop after the set duration.

5.3 Rain Delay Function
Prevent over-watering during rainy periods.
- Automatic Rain Delay: The system can detect local weather and automatically pause watering if rain is expected.
- Manual Rain Delay: In the app, select the timer and find the 'Rain Delay' option. You can manually set a delay for 24, 48, or 72 hours.

5.4 Voice Control (Alexa & Google Assistant)
Integrate your irrigation timer with smart home assistants for hands-free control.
- Ensure your johgee WiFi Irrigation Timer is successfully paired with the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app.
- Open the Alexa or Google Home app.
- Enable the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' skill/service and link your account.
- Discover devices. Your irrigation timer should appear.
- You can now use voice commands such as: "Alexa, turn on the Smart Water Timer" or "Hey Google, start watering the garden."

5.5 Flexible Irrigation Modes
The timer supports various watering methods to suit different needs.
- Irrigation Mode: Standard watering for gardens, lawns, and potted plants. Up to 5 distinct irrigation plans can be set.
- Spray Mode: Ideal for greenhouse spraying or other applications requiring a mist. One spray plan can be configured.

6. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the timer unit annually or when the low battery indicator appears in the app. Use only new AA alkaline batteries.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the filter washer at the inlet of the timer to prevent debris from clogging the unit.
- Winter Storage: Before the first frost, disconnect the timer from the faucet and store it indoors in a dry, frost-free location. Remove batteries before storage.
- Check for Leaks: Regularly inspect all connections for leaks and tighten if necessary. Replace O-rings if they appear worn or damaged.
