4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Dual Boot System
Your G9 Mini PC comes with Windows 11 Pro and Ubuntu pre-installed. Windows 11 Pro is on the SSD, and Ubuntu is on the 64GB eMMC.
- Default Boot: The system will typically boot into Windows 11 Pro by default.
- Switching OS: To switch between operating systems, restart the computer. During the boot sequence, you will usually see an option to select the operating system (often a GRUB menu for Linux or Windows Boot Manager). If not, you may need to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (typically by pressing DEL or F2 immediately after powering on) to change the boot order or manually select the boot device.

4.2 NAS Functionality
While the G9 provides the hardware foundation for a NAS, GMKtec does not provide specific NAS software. You will need to install and configure appropriate NAS software (e.g., TrueNAS, OpenMediaVault, or a Linux distribution with NAS services) on one of your storage drives to enable network storage features.
Once NAS software is installed, you can:
- Create shared folders for file backup and access.
- Stream media files to various devices on your network.
- Host personal cloud services.
