5. Operation
5.1 Selecting Measurement Modes
The MT93 offers four distinct measurement modes to ensure accurate readings for different material types. Press the corresponding mode button to select:
- PACKING: For easily absorbent packing materials like corrugated cardboard, paper, and cloth.
- BUILDING: For general building materials such as cement, plaster, and brick.
- SOFT WOOD: For soft, low-density woods (coniferous wood).
- HARD WOOD: For hard, higher-density woods (broadleaf wood).

5.2 Taking Measurements
After selecting the appropriate mode, carefully remove the protective cap from the pins. Firmly press the pins into the material you wish to measure. The moisture content percentage will be displayed on the screen. Ensure the pins penetrate sufficiently for an accurate reading.
5.3 Data Hold Function
To retain a measurement on the display, press the HOLD button while the pins are still inserted into the material. Press the HOLD button again to release the reading and resume live measurement.
5.4 Audible and Visual Alerts
The meter provides both audible beeps and visual alerts on its tri-colour display to indicate moisture levels:
- Green (DRY): Indicates low moisture content.
- Yellow (RISK): Indicates moderate moisture content, suggesting potential issues.
- Red (WET): Indicates high moisture content, requiring immediate attention.
An audible alarm will sound when the moisture level exceeds the 'WET' threshold for the selected material type.
6. Measurement Ranges and Accuracy
The Proster MT93 offers precise measurement capabilities across various materials:
- Packing Material: 6% ~ 61.2%
- Building Material: 0.4% ~ 31.3%
- Soft Wood: 5.7% ~ 56.1%
