5. Setup

5.1 Placement

The Monster Soundbar SB100 can be placed on a tabletop or mounted on a wall.

  • Tabletop Placement: Place the soundbar on a stable, flat surface directly in front of your TV. Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the soundbar to allow for optimal sound projection.
  • Wall Mounting: The soundbar is wall mountable. Use the provided wall mount template and hardware for secure installation. Ensure the wall can support the weight of the soundbar.

5.2 Connecting to Your TV

Choose one of the following connection methods based on your TV's available ports:

  1. HDMI (ARC) Connection (Recommended):

    Connect one end of an HDMI cable (not included) to the HDMI (ARC) port on the soundbar and the other end to the HDMI (ARC) port on your TV. This connection allows audio to be sent from the TV to the soundbar and enables control of the soundbar with your TV remote (if supported by your TV).

  2. Optical Connection:

    Connect the included optical cable to the OPT port on the soundbar and the Optical Digital Audio Out port on your TV. Ensure your TV's audio output is set to "PCM" or "Stereo" if you experience no sound.

  3. AUX Connection:

    Connect the included AUX cable to the AUX (R/L) ports on the soundbar and the Audio Out (R/L) ports on your TV or other audio device.

  4. Coaxial Connection:

    Connect a coaxial cable (not included) to the COAX port on the soundbar and the Coaxial Digital Audio Out port on your TV.

5.3 Power Connection

After connecting the audio cable, connect the power cable to the DC IN port on the soundbar and then plug the other end into a wall outlet. The soundbar will enter standby mode.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button on the soundbar or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.

6.2 Selecting Input Mode

Press the Input/Mode button on the soundbar or the remote control repeatedly to cycle through the available input modes: HDMI, OPT, COAX, AUX, and Bluetooth. The LED display will indicate the current mode.

6.3 Adjusting Volume

Press the Volume Up (+) or Volume Down (-) buttons on the soundbar or remote control to adjust the volume level.

6.4 Bluetooth Pairing

To connect your Bluetooth device:

  1. Turn on the soundbar and switch to Bluetooth mode. The LED display will show "BT" and flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for "Monster SB100" in the list of available devices.
  3. Select "Monster SB100" to pair. Once connected, the "BT" indicator on the soundbar will stop flashing and remain solid.
  4. You can now play audio from your device through the soundbar.

6.5 DSP Equalizer Modes

The soundbar features three DSP (Digital Signal Processor) equalizer modes to optimize audio for different content types. Press the corresponding EQ button on the remote control to switch between modes:

  • Movie Mode: Enhances cinematic sound effects, making explosions and dialogues more immersive.
  • Music Mode: Optimizes audio for music playback, providing rich bass and clear vocals.
