Operating Instructions
- Preheating: Plug the grill into a standard 120V electrical outlet. The indicator light will illuminate, signaling that the grill is preheating. Wait for the light to turn green, indicating that the grill has reached its optimal cooking temperature.
- Placing Food: Carefully open the grill using an oven mitt or heat-resistant gloves, as the surfaces will be hot. Place your food (e.g., burgers, chicken, paninis) directly onto the bottom grill plate. The floating hinge allows for even cooking of thicker items.
- Cooking: Close the top grill plate. The grill will cook both sides of your food simultaneously. The indicator light may cycle on and off during cooking to maintain the set temperature. Cooking times will vary based on the type and thickness of the food.
- Checking Doneness: Periodically lift the top plate to check the doneness of your food. Use tongs to carefully remove cooked items.

Care and Maintenance
Always unplug the grill and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. The nonstick ceramic coating makes cleanup simple.
- Grill Plates: Wipe the grill plates with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn residue, use a plastic scouring pad. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they can damage the nonstick coating.
- Drip Tray: The removable drip tray is dishwasher-safe for convenient cleaning. Alternatively, wash it by hand with warm, soapy water.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the grill with a clean, damp cloth.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your George Foreman Grill, please refer to the following general advice:
- Grill Not Heating: Ensure the grill is properly plugged into a functioning electrical outlet. Check if the indicator light is on.
- Food Not Cooking Evenly: Ensure food is placed centrally on the grill plates. For very thick items, cooking time may need to be adjusted.
- Excessive Smoke: This can occur with very fatty foods. Ensure the drip tray is in place and empty it as needed. Cook in a well-ventilated area.
