4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance. Follow these steps to set up your portable air conditioner.

4.1 Positioning the Unit

  • Place the unit on a flat, stable surface, ensuring at least 20 inches of clearance from walls or other objects to allow for proper airflow.
  • Position the unit near a window for exhaust hose installation.

4.2 Window Kit Installation

The window kit is designed to fit most standard vertical and horizontal windows.

  1. Assemble the window slide bar kit according to the instructions provided with the kit.
  2. Open the window and place the assembled window kit into the window opening. Extend the adjustable panel to fit the window width or height, then secure it.
  3. Attach the exhaust hose adapter to one end of the exhaust hose.
  4. Connect the other end of the exhaust hose to the exhaust outlet on the rear of the air conditioner.
  5. Connect the exhaust hose adapter to the opening in the window kit. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent air leakage.

4.3 Power Connection

Plug the power cord into a dedicated, grounded 115-Volt, 60Hz electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Hisense portable air conditioner offers various modes and settings for your comfort.

5.1 Control Panel Functions

  • Power Button: Press to turn the unit ON or OFF.
  • Mode Button: Cycle through operating modes: Cool, Fan, Dry (Dehumidify).
  • Fan Button: Adjust fan speed (Low, Medium, High) in Cool or Fan mode.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures efficient operation and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.

6.1 Air Filter Cleaning

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

  1. Unplug the air conditioner from the power outlet.
  2. Locate and remove the air filter from the back or side of the unit.
  3. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling. Do not expose to direct sunlight.

6.2 Draining Accumulated Water

The unit will collect condensate during operation. Depending on humidity levels, you may need to drain the water periodically.

  • Continuous Drainage: For prolonged use in high humidity, connect a drain hose (not included) to the continuous drain port at the back of the unit and direct it to a floor drain.
  • Manual Drainage: When the internal water tank is full, the unit will stop operating and display an error code. Unplug the unit, place a shallow pan under the drain port, and remove the drain plug to empty the water. Reinsert the plug securely.

6.3 Storage

When storing the unit for an extended period:

  1. Drain all accumulated water.
  2. Clean the air filter.
  3. Run the unit in Fan mode for a few hours to dry the internal components.
  4. Unplug the power cord and wrap it neatly.
  5. Store the unit in a cool, dry place, covered to protect it from dust.
