  • Once plugged in, the UV light will illuminate, and the high-voltage grid will become active.
  • The device operates continuously when powered. There is no separate on/off switch; operation is controlled by plugging/unplugging the unit.
  • The 18W UVA bulb emits light at 365nm, which is highly effective at attracting a wide range of flying insects, including mosquitoes, gnats, moths, and wasps.
  • Insects attracted to the light will fly into the 4000V electrified grid, resulting in their elimination.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your CLEVAST Bug Zapper, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Device Not Turning On:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Check if the outlet itself is functional by plugging in another device.
    • Inspect the power cord for any visible damage. If damaged, discontinue use and contact support.
  • Not Zapping Bugs Effectively:
    • Clean the high-voltage grid and the removable tray as per the maintenance instructions (Section 6). Accumulated debris can reduce effectiveness.
    • Relocate the zapper to an area with higher insect activity.
    • Ensure there are no competing light sources nearby that might distract insects from the UV light.
  • Unusual Noises or Smells:
    • Immediately unplug the device.
    • Inspect for any foreign objects or damage. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact customer support.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact CLEVAST customer support for further assistance.
