Troubleshooting
- SSD not recognized by computer:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the SSD and your computer.
- Try connecting the SSD to a different USB-C port on your computer.
- Test with a different USB-C cable if available.
- Restart your computer.
- Check your computer's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac) to see if the drive is detected but uninitialized or unformatted.
- Slow data transfer speeds:
- Verify that the SSD is connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (or higher) compatible port on your computer. Older USB 2.0 ports will result in significantly slower speeds.
- Ensure your computer's drivers for USB ports are up to date.
- Large file transfers are generally faster than transferring many small files.
- Other background processes on your computer might be affecting transfer speeds.
- Error messages during file transfer:
- Ensure there is sufficient free space on the SSD for the files you are transferring.
- If transferring very large files (over 4GB) and the drive is formatted as FAT32, you may encounter errors. Consider reformatting the drive to NTFS (Windows) or exFAT for cross-platform compatibility with large files.
- Perform a disk check on the SSD using your operating system's tools to identify and repair any potential errors.
