Operating Instructions
QMK/VIA Customization
The Keychron V10 Max is fully customizable via QMK/VIA software. This allows you to remap keys, create macros, and personalize RGB backlighting without requiring any coding knowledge.
- Download the VIA software from the official Keychron website.
- Connect your keyboard to your computer via USB-C cable.
- Launch the VIA software. The software should automatically detect your keyboard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions within VIA to customize key assignments, macros, and lighting effects.
Hot-Swappable Gasket Design
The keyboard features a hot-swappable PCB, allowing you to change switches without soldering. It supports 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches.
- Removing Keycaps: Use the provided keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycap.
- Removing Switches: Use the provided switch puller to carefully grip the switch from the top and bottom clips, then pull it straight up.
- Installing Switches: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently push the switch straight down until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
- Installing Keycaps: Place the keycap over the switch stem and press down firmly.

OSA Profile Double-shot PBT Keycaps
The keyboard is equipped with OSA (OEM Spherical Angled) profile double-shot PBT keycaps. These keycaps offer a comfortable typing experience with a spherical top and angled sides, similar to SA profile but with OEM height. PBT material provides excellent oil resistance and durability, preventing legends from fading over time.

RGB Backlighting
The Keychron V10 Max features customizable RGB backlighting. You can adjust lighting effects, colors, and brightness through the VIA software. Additionally, some basic lighting controls may be available directly on the keyboard using function key combinations (refer to the QMK/VIA documentation for specific key combinations).

Maintenance
- Cleaning Keycaps: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down keycaps. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps using the provided puller and wash them with mild soap and water. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
- Cleaning the Case: Wipe the keyboard case with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the keyboard frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50%.
- Switch Maintenance: If a switch feels inconsistent, you can hot-swap it with a new one. Ensure the new switch is properly seated.
Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding:
- Ensure the keyboard is charged or connected via USB-C.
- Check the mode switch (2.4G, BT, Cable) is set correctly.
- For 2.4GHz, ensure the receiver is properly plugged in.
- For Bluetooth, ensure it's paired and selected on your device. Try re-pairing if necessary.
- Try connecting via USB-C cable to rule out wireless issues.
- Keys not registering:
- Remove the keycap and switch for the affected key.
- Inspect the switch pins for bends or damage. Straighten gently if bent, or replace the switch.
- Ensure the switch is fully seated in the PCB.
- RGB backlighting not working or incorrect:
- Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
- Check settings in the VIA software.
- Refer to the QMK/VIA documentation for keyboard shortcuts to cycle through lighting effects and brightness.
- Bluetooth connection issues:
- Ensure the keyboard is in Bluetooth mode.
- Forget the device on your computer/device and re-pair.
- Ensure no other devices are interfering with the Bluetooth signal.
