2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking and Component Check

2.2 Battery Installation
The lid requires batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid. Insert the required batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators. Ensure the battery compartment cover is securely closed after installation.
2.3 Installing the Trash Bag
- Place a standard 13-gallon trash bag into the trash can base.
- Fit the removable ring liner over the top edge of the trash bag, securing the bag in place. This ring helps to keep the bag hidden from view for a neat appearance.
- Carefully place the lid assembly onto the trash can base, ensuring it is properly aligned and seated.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Powering On/Off
Locate the power switch, typically on the back or underside of the lid. Flip the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the motion sensor. Flip to 'OFF' to deactivate.
3.2 Automatic Motion Sensor Operation
When the trash can is powered on, the infrared motion sensor will detect movement within a 10-inch range and a 130-degree angle. The lid will automatically open. It will remain open as long as motion is detected within the sensor's range. Approximately three seconds after motion ceases, the lid will close automatically.

3.3 Manual Open/Close
For extended periods of use or specific situations, you can manually control the lid:
- Press the OPEN button on the lid to keep it open indefinitely.
- Press the CLOSE button to close the lid when it is in the manual open state.
