10. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ZowieREC 4K HDMI Video Recorder, consider the following common solutions:
- SD Card Issues: If the device frequently loses track of the SD card or if the card becomes corrupted, try using a different, high-quality TF card or a USB flash drive. Ensure the card is properly formatted (FAT32 or exFAT).
- Audio/Video Desynchronization: For longer recordings (e.g., over 4 minutes), some users have reported audio and video becoming desynchronized. This may be a limitation for extended recording sessions.
- Remote Control Not Working: Ensure batteries are correctly inserted. If the remote is unresponsive, try replacing the batteries. Some users have reported initial difficulty with remote pairing; repeatedly pressing buttons may help establish connection.
- Device Overheating: The device has fan settings that can be configured via the web UI or app. If the device gets hot, adjust the fan settings to 'performance mode' to improve cooling.
- Input Signal Pickiness: The device may be particular about certain HDMI input signals. If using an adapter (e.g., USB-C to HDMI), ensure it provides a stable and compatible signal. Using a direct HDMI cable is recommended.
- LCD Screen Indicators: Note that on some units, the 'REC' and 'STOP' indicators on the LCD screen might appear swapped. Refer to the actual recording status by checking the output or file creation.
