5. Setup

5.1 Physical Installation

The moving head light can be installed in various positions (e.g., truss-mounted, floor-standing). Ensure the mounting surface or truss is capable of supporting the weight of the fixture(s).

  • Attach the included mounting bracket securely to the fixture.
  • Use appropriate clamps to attach the fixture to a truss system. Always use a safety cable as a secondary attachment.
  • When placing on a flat surface, ensure it is stable and level to prevent tipping.

5.2 Connections

Connect the power and DMX cables as follows:

  • Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the "POWER-IN" port. For daisy-chaining multiple units, use the "POWER-OUT" port to connect to the next fixture's "POWER-IN". Ensure total power draw does not exceed circuit limits.
  • DMX Connection: Connect a DMX cable from your DMX controller to the "DMX-IN" port of the first fixture. For multiple fixtures, connect from the "DMX-OUT" of the first fixture to the "DMX-IN" of the second, and so on.

6.1 DMX Mode

For advanced control, connect the fixture to a DMX controller. Set the DMX address for each fixture using the control panel. Refer to the DMX channel chart (typically provided in a separate DMX manual or on the manufacturer's website) for specific channel functions.

6.2 Master-Slave Mode

To synchronize multiple fixtures without a DMX controller:

  1. Connect the DMX-OUT of the designated Master unit to the DMX-IN of the first Slave unit, and continue the chain.
  2. On the Master unit, select a desired operating mode (e.g., Auto, Sound Active).
  3. On all Slave units, set the mode to "Slave" (or similar, consult the on-screen menu). The Slave units will then mimic the Master unit's behavior.

6.3 Automatic Mode

The fixture cycles through pre-programmed light shows and color changes automatically. Select "Auto" from the menu. Speed and pattern variations may be adjustable.

6.4 Voice Control (Sound Active) Mode

The light reacts to sound and music via a built-in microphone. Select "Sound Active" from the menu. Microphone sensitivity may be adjustable.

6.5 Static Color Mode

Select a single, fixed color from the available options. This mode allows for consistent ambient lighting.

6.6 Strobe Mode

Produces a flashing light effect. Strobe speed is typically adjustable.

6.7 Gradient Mode

Smoothly transitions between different colors, creating a fading effect.

6.8 Zoom Function

The fixture features a zoom function, allowing adjustment of the beam angle from 5° (narrow spot) to 60° (wide wash). This can be controlled via DMX or through specific menu settings.
