1. Product Overview

The EBYTE 200W Low Voltage Landscape Transformer is designed to convert standard 120V AC household current to a safe 12V AC output, suitable for LED and halogen landscape lighting systems. This unit features a detachable photocell sensor and multiple operating modes to provide flexible and energy-efficient outdoor lighting control.

  • 200W Output Capacity: Converts 120V AC to 12V AC for LED and halogen landscape lighting.

3. Safety Information

  • Always ensure the transformer is disconnected from the power source before installation or maintenance.
  • Do not exceed the maximum 200W output capacity.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and waterproof for outdoor installations.
  • The built-in circuit breaker provides protection; if it trips, troubleshoot the issue before resetting.
  • Install the transformer in a location that allows for proper ventilation and is protected from direct water submersion.

4. Setup and Installation

  1. Mounting the Transformer: Choose a suitable location near a 120V AC outlet. The transformer can be mounted on a wall using appropriate hardware (not included). Refer to dimensions for planning.

  2. Connecting Landscape Lights: Connect your 12V AC landscape lighting wires to the terminal output ends on the transformer. The transformer provides multiple terminal outputs (COM, 12V, 14V) to choose from based on your lighting needs. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

  3. Connecting the Photocell Sensor: Plug the detachable photocell sensor into its designated port on the transformer. Position the sensor in an area that receives natural light, away from artificial light sources that could interfere with its operation.
  4. Powering On: Once all connections are made, plug the transformer's power cord into a grounded 120V AC outdoor-rated electrical outlet.

5. Operating Modes

The transformer features a control panel with buttons for setting the time and selecting operating modes. The display shows the current time and selected mode.

Press the MENU button to cycle through the available lighting modes:

  • Manual On/Off: The lights remain continuously on or off, controlled manually.
  • Auto On/Off (Dusk-to-Dawn): The lights automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn, utilizing the photocell sensor.

  • Countdown Mode (4/6/8 hours): The lights turn on at dusk and automatically turn off after a set duration of 4, 6, or 8 hours.
  • Timer Mode (On/Off at Set Time): Allows you to program specific on and off times for the lights.
  • Dusk On Timer Off: The lights turn on at dusk and turn off at a specific programmed time.

Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust settings (e.g., time, countdown duration) and the ENTER button to confirm selections. The CLOCK button is used to set the current time.

The transformer features a memory function, retaining the last selected mode even after a power outage, eliminating the need for re-setting.

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect the transformer and all wiring for any signs of damage or wear.
  • Keep the photocell sensor clean and free from obstructions to ensure accurate light detection.
  • Wipe the exterior of the transformer with a damp cloth as needed. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure the circuit breaker is not frequently tripping. If it does, investigate the cause (e.g., overloaded circuit, short circuit).

7. Troubleshooting

  • Overloaded circuit (total wattage of lights exceeds 200W).
  • Short circuit in the landscape lighting system.
  • Reduce the total wattage of connected lights.
  • Inspect all wiring and light fixtures for damage or exposed wires.
