2. Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

4. Setup and First Use
4.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
- Carefully remove all packaging materials.
- Wash the water tank, portafilter, filter baskets, and drip tray with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
4.2 Filling the Water Tank
- Remove the 1.8L water tank from the back of the machine.
- Fill the tank with fresh, cold filtered water up to the MAX line.
- Place the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is securely seated.

4.3 Filling the Bean Hopper
- Open the lid of the bean hopper located on top of the machine.
- Pour fresh whole coffee beans into the hopper. The hopper can hold up to 250g of beans.
- Close the lid securely.

4.4 Priming the Machine (First Use)
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
- Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
- Turn on the machine. It will perform an initial heating cycle.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to run a cleaning cycle or dispense hot water through the steam wand and brew head to prime the system and rinse out any manufacturing residue.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Understanding the Control Panel
The machine features an intuitive color touch screen for selecting various coffee types and functions.

5.2 Adjusting Grind Settings
The integrated conical grinder offers 10 grind settings, from fine for espresso to coarse for French press. Adjust the grind dial according to your preferred brewing method and coffee type.

Recommendation: For espresso, start with a finer setting (e.g., 3-5) and adjust as needed to achieve optimal extraction (a steady, honey-like flow).
5.3 Brewing Espresso
- Select the appropriate filter basket (single or double) and place it in the portafilter.
- Place the portafilter under the grinder outlet. Press the "Grinding" or "Grinding x2" option on the touch screen to dispense freshly ground coffee into the filter basket.
- Use the tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly.
- Attach the portafilter to the brew head, ensuring it is securely locked.
- Place your cup(s) on the drip tray under the portafilter.
- Select "Espresso" or "Espresso x2" on the touch screen. The machine will begin brewing.
- The machine uses a 20-bar pump and pre-infusion technology for optimal flavor extraction.

5.4 Steaming Milk
- Fill a milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
- Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
- Select "Steam" on the touch screen. The steam wand will begin to produce steam.
- Move the pitcher up and down to create microfoam. Once desired texture and temperature are reached, turn off the steam function.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

5.5 Making Cold Brew and Americano
- Cold Brew: Select "Espresso Cool" on the touch screen. This function brews espresso at a lower temperature, ideal for iced coffee beverages.
- Americano: Brew a single or double espresso, then add hot water to taste.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your espresso machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray daily. It is removable for easy cleaning.
- Steam Wand: After each use, wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth. Periodically purge steam to clear any internal milk residue.
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: Rinse the portafilter and filter baskets after each use to remove coffee grounds.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

6.2 Cleaning the Conical Grinder
The conical burr grinder is removable for easy cleaning. Refer to the manual for specific instructions on how to detach and clean the burrs. This typically involves removing the bean hopper and then twisting to unlock the upper burr.

6.3 Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the machine's internal components. Descaling is essential to maintain performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines and follow the product's instructions. The machine may have an automatic descaling cycle; consult the on-screen menu or full manual for details.
