3. Installation

Unpacking

Location

Water Connection
Connect the water inlet hose to a cold water tap with a 3/4-inch thread. Ensure the hose is securely fastened to both the tap and the machine. The drain hose should be placed into a standpipe or connected to a sink trap, ensuring it is not kinked.
Electrical Connection
Connect the power cable to a properly grounded electrical outlet. The appliance operates on standard household electricity. Refer to the specifications section for exact voltage and frequency requirements.
Leveling the Appliance
Use a spirit level to ensure the machine is perfectly level. Adjust the feet at the bottom of the machine as needed. A level machine reduces vibration and noise during operation.
4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for optimal washing results with your Teka WMK 40840 WH washing machine.
Loading Laundry
- Open the porthole door.
- Load laundry into the drum, ensuring not to overload the machine. An 8 kg capacity means you can wash up to 8 kg of dry laundry.
- Close the door firmly until it clicks.
Adding Detergent and Softener
Pull out the detergent drawer located on the top left of the control panel. Add detergent to the main wash compartment and softener to the designated compartment. Do not exceed the maximum fill lines.
Selecting a Program
Turn the program selector knob to choose one of the 15 available programs. The selected program will be displayed on the electronic control panel.

Starting the Wash Cycle
Press the Start/Pause button to begin the selected wash cycle. The machine will automatically adjust water levels and cycle duration based on the program and load.

Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Cleaning the Detergent Drawer
Periodically remove and clean the detergent drawer to prevent residue buildup. Rinse it under running water and dry thoroughly before reinserting.
Cleaning the Drum
The machine has a Drum Cleaning Reminder function. When activated, run a drum cleaning cycle without laundry or detergent to remove any buildup and odors.
Cleaning the Pump Filter

Care During Non-Use
If the machine will not be used for an extended period, unplug it, turn off the water supply, and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent odors.
