Setup and Installation
1. Inserting the SD Card
Before first use, insert the provided 64GB SD card (or another compatible Class 10 U3 or higher microSD card, up to 256GB) into the dash cam's SD card slot. Ensure the dash cam is powered off before inserting or removing the card. Format the SD card within the dash cam's settings menu for optimal performance.
2. Front Dash Cam Installation
- Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam.
- Attach the electrostatic sticker to the windshield first, then attach the dash cam mount to the electrostatic sticker. This allows for easier removal without leaving residue.
- Adjust the lens angle to ensure it captures the road ahead clearly.
- Connect the car charger to the dash cam's power port and plug the other end into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Route the cable neatly along the windshield edge and dashboard.

3. Rear Camera Installation
- Identify a suitable location on your rear windshield for the rear camera, ensuring a clear view.
- Clean the chosen area thoroughly.
- Use the provided 3M glue to securely attach the rear camera.
- Connect the rear camera cable to the rear camera and route it to the front dash cam. Plug the cable into the designated rear camera port on the main dash cam unit.
- Optional: If your rear camera supports reverse assist, connect the red wire from the rear camera cable to your vehicle's reverse light power source (professional installation recommended).
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Recording
The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's engine starts (and the car charger receives power). It will automatically power off when the engine is turned off. You can also manually power on/off the device using the power button.
2. Loop Recording
The dash cam records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5-minute segments). When the SD card is full, the oldest unlocked files will be automatically overwritten to make space for new recordings. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.
3. G-Sensor and Emergency Lock
The built-in G-sensor detects sudden shakes or collisions. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These locked files are stored in a separate "Event" folder on the SD card.
4. Parking Monitor
With the parking monitor feature enabled, the dash cam will automatically start recording if it detects a collision or motion while your vehicle is parked. This requires a continuous power supply (e.g., a hardwire kit, sold separately) or the dash cam's internal battery (for short periods).
5. GPS Functionality
The integrated GPS module records your driving route, speed, and location data. This information can be viewed during video playback using the dedicated Carlover app or a compatible GPS player on a computer.
6. Using the Smart App (5G WiFi)
- Download the "Carlover" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Turn on the dash cam's WiFi function (refer to the dash cam's menu settings).
- On your smartphone, connect to the dash cam's WiFi network (SSID and password will be displayed on the dash cam screen or in the manual).
- Open the Carlover app. You can now:
- View live footage from the dash cam.
- Browse and playback recorded videos.
- Download video files directly to your smartphone.
- Adjust dash cam settings.
Maintenance
- SD Card Formatting: It is recommended to format the SD card every 2-4 weeks to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. This can be done through the dash cam's menu settings.
- Lens Cleaning: Regularly clean the front and rear camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Firmware Updates: Check the official Carlover website periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your dash cam's firmware up-to-date can improve performance and add new features. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.
