3. Installation and Setup

Proper installation is crucial for the security of your safe. Ensure the safe is placed on a flat, stable surface or securely mounted.

3.1 Initial Setup (Battery Installation & First Opening)

  1. Remove Emergency Lock Cover: Locate the emergency lock cover on the digital keypad and remove it.
  2. Insert Emergency Key: Insert one of the provided emergency keys into the lock and turn it anti-clockwise. Simultaneously, turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
  3. Install Batteries: Inside the safe door, locate the battery compartment. Open it and install 4 x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close and Lock: Close the safe door and turn the knob anti-clockwise to lock it. Remove the emergency key and replace the lock cover.

3.2 Mounting the Safe

The safe features pre-drilled holes on the back and bottom panels for secure mounting to a wall or floor. This significantly enhances security against theft.

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable location for mounting, considering accessibility and security.
  2. Mark Drilling Points: With the safe in position, mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes on the wall or floor.
  3. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked points using an appropriate drill bit for your wall or floor material.
  4. Insert Expansion Bolts: Insert the provided expansion bolts into the drilled holes.
  5. Secure the Safe: Align the safe with the bolts and tighten them securely to fasten the safe to the surface.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Setting Your Personal Passcode

After installing the batteries, you can set your personal passcode.

  1. With the safe door open, locate the red reset button on the inside of the door (usually near the hinge).
  2. Press the reset button. The indicator light on the keypad should flash or beep, indicating it's ready to accept a new code.
  3. Enter your desired passcode (3 to 8 digits) on the digital keypad.
  4. Press the "#" key to confirm your new passcode.
  5. Test the new passcode with the door open to ensure it works correctly before closing the safe.

Important: Do not leave emergency keys inside the safe. The initial password is typically "159+#".

4.2 Unlocking Methods

Your safe offers three methods for unlocking:

  • Programmable Keypad: Enter your personal code and turn the knob.
  • Emergency Keys: In case of forgotten code or battery failure, use the emergency key to open the safe.
  • External Power Box: If batteries are depleted and emergency keys are unavailable, connect the external power box to the safe's external power port, enter your personal code, and turn the knob.

4.3 Using the Depository Drop Slot

The drop slot allows for quick and secure deposits without needing to open the main safe door.

  1. Open the front deposit drawer.
  2. Place cash, envelopes, or small documents into the drawer.
  3. Close the drawer. The items will drop into the main compartment of the safe.

The drop slot is designed with a saw-tooth edge tilting baffle to prevent unauthorized retrieval of contents.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the safe's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears on the keypad to ensure continuous operation. Always use 4 new AA batteries.
  • Key Storage: Store emergency keys and the external power box in a secure location away from the safe.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Safe does not open with passcode. Incorrect passcode entered; batteries are low or dead. Re-enter passcode carefully. Replace batteries. Use emergency key or external power box.
Keypad is unresponsive or beeping continuously. Multiple incorrect passcode entries (alarm activated). The keypad will be blocked for 20 seconds after 3 incorrect entries, and for 5 minutes after 6 incorrect entries. Wait for the lockout period to end before trying again.
Low battery indicator is on. Batteries are running low. Replace all 4 AA batteries immediately.
Emergency key does not turn. Key not fully inserted or mechanism is stiff. Ensure the key is fully inserted and try turning gently. Do not force.
