2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the safe from its packaging. Inspect the safe for any signs of damage. Ensure all included components are present: 1 safe, 2 mechanical keys, and 2 pairs of expansion bolts.

2.2 Battery Installation

The electronic keypad requires batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment, usually on the inside of the safe door. Insert the required batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment cover securely.

2.3 Mounting the Safe

The Grimtron Small Safe can be floor-mounted or wall-mounted for added security. Use the provided expansion bolts for installation.

  1. Choose a suitable location for mounting.
  2. Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes on the back or bottom of the safe.
  3. Drill two holes approximately 4.72 inches apart in the wall or floor using an electric drill.
  4. Insert the plastic anchors into the drilled holes.
  5. Align the safe's pre-drilled holes with the anchors and secure the safe using the expansion bolts and screws.
  6. Ensure the safe is securely fastened before use.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Opening the Safe for the First Time

Upon first use, the safe can be opened using one of the provided mechanical keys. Insert the key into the keyhole, turn it, and then turn the knob to open the door.

3.2 Setting Your Personal Combination

With the safe door open:

  1. Locate the red reset button on the inside of the safe door, near the hinge.
  2. Press the reset button. You will hear a beep, and the indicator light on the keypad will flash.
  3. Within 5 seconds, enter your desired 3-8 digit code on the keypad.
  4. Press the "E" or "#" button to confirm your new code. You will hear a confirmation beep.
  5. Test the new code with the door open before closing it.

Important: Do not store the mechanical keys inside the safe. Keep them in a secure, separate location.

3.3 Opening the Safe with the Electronic Keypad

  1. Enter your 3-8 digit personal combination.
  2. Press the "E" or "#" button.
  3. If the code is correct, the green light will illuminate, and you will have a few seconds to turn the knob clockwise and open the door.
  4. If the code is incorrect, the yellow light will flash, and you will hear a beep.

3.4 Opening the Safe with the Mechanical Key (Emergency Access)

In case of forgotten code or battery failure, the safe can always be opened with the mechanical key.

  1. Locate the keyhole cover on the keypad panel.
  2. Remove the cover.
  3. Insert the mechanical key and turn it counter-clockwise.
  4. Turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

3.5 Using the Coin Slot

The safe features a coin slot on the top for depositing cash or small documents without needing to open the main door. Simply slide items into the slot.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your Grimtron Small Safe, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears (usually a red light or specific beep pattern). Always use new batteries of the specified type.
  • Key Storage: Keep mechanical keys in a safe, easily accessible location outside the safe.
