Installation Instructions

WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before installation.

  1. Prepare the Area and Turn Off Power:

    Ensure the circuit breaker supplying power to the installation area is OFF. Install a compatible single gang junction box if one is not already in place. The junction box should be non-metallic, and adequately sized to accommodate the chime unit and wiring.

  2. Wire the Chime Unit:

    Connect the 120V AC line voltage wires to the designated terminals on the chime unit. Attach the low-voltage bell wires for the front and rear doorbells to their respective designated ports on the chime unit.

  3. Secure the Chime Unit:

    Use the provided screws to install and secure the chime unit into the junction box.

  4. Attach Doorbell Buttons:

    Connect the doorbell button wires to the chime wiring terminals. Secure the doorbell buttons to their respective mounting surfaces at the front and rear doors.

  5. Test and Finalize Installation:

    Restore power at the circuit breaker. Test the functionality of the chime and doorbell buttons. Adjust settings like tone or volume as needed (refer to Operating Instructions section).

Operating Instructions

Selecting Chime Tones:

The PrimeChime Plus 2 Mini offers five distinct chime tones. To select a chime tone, locate the tone selection button or switch on the chime unit. Press or toggle this control to cycle through the available tones until your desired melody is heard. The unit will typically play a sample of each tone as you cycle through them.

Adjusting Volume:

The unit features five volume settings. Locate the volume control on the chime unit. This may be a button or a dial. Adjust the control to increase or decrease the chime volume to your preferred level. Test the volume by pressing a doorbell button after adjustment.

Front and Rear Door Differentiation:

The chime unit is designed to produce different melodies for the front and rear doorbells, allowing you to identify which door a visitor is at. Ensure your doorbell buttons are wired to the correct terminals on the chime unit as per the installation instructions to utilize this feature.

Maintenance

The Nicor PrimeChime Plus 2 Mini is designed for minimal maintenance. The screwless faceplate can be painted to match your interior decor. To clean the unit or doorbell buttons, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish or electronic components.

The doorbell buttons are UV and dust-resistant, ensuring durability in outdoor conditions.

Troubleshooting
