  4. Placement: Position the main unit indoors using one of the available placement options. Place the remote sensor outdoors in a location that is protected from direct sunlight and heavy precipitation, but still allows for accurate ambient temperature readings. Ensure it is within the 500ft wireless range of the main unit.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Overview

ThermoPro thermometer display showing indoor and outdoor temperatures

Image: The main display unit showing both indoor ('IN') and outdoor ('OUT') temperature readings. The outdoor reading cycles through channels CH1, CH2, CH3 if multiple sensors are connected.

The main display unit shows both the indoor temperature (labeled 'IN') and the outdoor temperature (labeled 'OUT'). If multiple remote sensors are connected, the outdoor temperature display will cycle through the readings from each connected channel (CH1, CH2, CH3).

5.2 Switching Temperature Units (°F/°C)

To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C), locate the °F/°C button on the back or side of the main display unit. Press this button once to toggle the temperature display unit.

5.3 Using Multiple Sensors (Optional)

The thermometer supports up to three remote sensors. To add additional sensors (purchased separately, search B0BHQSR2RK), ensure they are powered on and within range. The main unit will automatically detect and display readings from new sensors, cycling through CH1, CH2, and CH3. Each sensor will be assigned a channel automatically.

7. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: When the display becomes dim or unresponsive, replace the AAA batteries in both the main unit and the remote sensor. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the units with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the units in water.
  • Sensor Care: While the remote sensor is IPX4 rainproof, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures (over 122°F / 50°C) or high humidity (95% RH) environments to ensure longevity.
  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Outdoor Reading / Dashes on Display:
    • Ensure the remote sensor is powered on and within range of the main unit.
    • Check batteries in both units and replace if necessary.
    • Move the remote sensor closer to the main unit to rule out range issues or obstructions.
    • Re-synchronize: Remove batteries from both units, wait 1 minute, then reinsert batteries into the remote sensor first, followed by the main unit.
    • Important Notice: Once synchronization is finished, do not press the RESET button on the sensor, or the signal will disappear.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Ensure the remote sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources, which can skew readings.
    • Verify that the main unit is not placed near heat-emitting appliances or in direct sunlight.
    • Allow both units to stabilize for at least 30 minutes after initial setup or relocation.
  • Intermittent Signal Loss:
    • Relocate the main unit or sensor to minimize obstructions (e.g., thick walls, large metal objects).
    • Avoid placing the units near electronic devices that may cause interference (e.g., microwaves, Wi-Fi routers).
    • Check battery levels. Low batteries can affect signal strength.
