- Always plug the unit into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Do not immerse the power cord, plug, or any part of the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Keep the appliance away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Ensure proper ventilation; maintain at least 6 inches (15 cm) clearance around the unit for heat dissipation.
- Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
- Unplug the ice maker before cleaning or when not in use for extended periods.
- This appliance is for household use only.
5. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging. Remove all packing materials, including any tape or protective film.
- Placement: Position the ice maker on a stable, level surface. Ensure it is in a cool spot, ideally below 81°F (27°C), and away from direct sunlight or heat-generating appliances. Allow at least 6 inches (15 cm) of clearance on all sides for proper heat dissipation.
- Initial Stand Time: After transportation, allow the ice maker to stand upright for at least two hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant liquid to settle properly within the compressor.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, it is recommended to run a self-cleaning cycle or manually clean the interior to ensure all internal parts are clean. Refer to the "Maintenance" section for detailed cleaning instructions.
- Power Connection: Plug the ice maker into a grounded electrical outlet.

7.2 Combating Hard Water Scaling
Hard water can lead to mineral buildup (scaling) in your ice maker, affecting its performance. Follow these recommendations:
- Moderately Hard Water Areas: Descale monthly.
- Very Hard Water Areas: Descale every two weeks.
- Any Water Area: Consider using pure water for ice making to minimize scaling.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ice maker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Ice maker not producing ice. | No water in reservoir; "Add Water" light is on. | Fill the water reservoir with clean water. |
| Ice maker stops producing ice. | Ice basket is full; "Ice Full" light is on. | Remove ice from the basket. The machine will resume automatically. |
| Ice production is slow or ice is not solid. | Warm water used; high ambient temperature; poor ventilation. | Use colder water. Ensure the unit is in a cool environment and has adequate clearance for ventilation (6 inches/15 cm). |
| Unusual noise during operation. | Normal operation sounds (compressor, water pump, ice dropping). | This is typically normal. If the noise is excessive or unusual, contact customer support. |
| Ice has an unusual taste or smell. | Unit needs cleaning; water quality issue. | Perform a thorough self-cleaning cycle. Use fresh, filtered water. |
