Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Turtle Beach Afterglow Wave Wired RGB Gaming Controller. This controller is designed to enhance your gaming experience on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 & 11 PCs with advanced features and customizable RGB lighting. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure proper setup and operation.

Setup

Connecting to Xbox Console or PC

  1. Locate the USB-C port on the top of your Turtle Beach Afterglow Wave Controller.
  2. Insert the smaller end of the included 10’ / 3m USB-C cable into the controller’s USB-C port.
  3. Insert the larger USB-A end of the cable into an available USB port on your Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One console, or Windows 10/11 PC.
  4. The controller will automatically power on and connect. The RGB lighting will illuminate, indicating a successful connection.

No additional drivers are typically required for basic functionality on supported platforms. For advanced customization, refer to the "Control Hub Companion App" section.

Operating the Controller

Hall-Effect 3-Stop Adjustable Triggers

The controller features Hall-Effect triggers with three adjustable stop positions. This allows you to fine-tune the trigger pull distance for different game genres, from full range for racing games to short pulls for rapid-fire actions in shooters.

  • Locate the small switches on the underside of the controller, near the triggers.
  • Toggle these switches to select your desired trigger throw distance.

Customizable RGB Lighting

The Afterglow Wave controller boasts 8 unique RGB lighting zones and 8 different preset modes. Adjust brightness and effects to personalize your gaming setup.

Two Mappable Quick-Action Buttons

Two additional buttons are located on the rear of the controller, providing quick access to essential commands. These buttons can be remapped using the Control Hub companion app.

Patented Audio Controls

Adjust your game and chat audio directly from the controller using the D-pad controls. A dedicated mic mute button is also included for convenience.

  • Game/Chat Mix: Use the D-pad to adjust the balance between game audio and chat audio.
  • Master Volume: Control the overall volume level.
  • Mic Mute: Press the dedicated button to mute or unmute your microphone.

Immersive Feedback

Experience enhanced immersion with dual rumble motors and impulse triggers, providing responsive tactile feedback during gameplay.

Control Hub Companion App

For extensive customization of your Afterglow Wave controller, download the Control Hub companion app. This app is available on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs.

App Features:

  • Advanced lighting customization (effects, colors, brightness)
  • Button remapping for quick-action buttons
  • Controller configuration
  • Diagnosis tools

Search for "Control Hub" in your console's store or the Microsoft Store on PC to download and install the application.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your controller, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the controller. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
  • Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the USB-C cable. Always grasp the plug, not the cable, when disconnecting.
  • Ergonomics: The controller features an ergonomic design with laser-etched textured grips for comfortable, fatigue-free gaming sessions.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the controller and the console/PC.
  • Try a different USB port on your console/PC.
  • Restart your console/PC.

  • Check RGB settings in the Control Hub companion app.
  • Disconnect and reconnect the controller.
Buttons or sticks not responding correctly.Software issue, or physical obstruction.
  • Ensure the Control Hub app is updated.
  • Clean around buttons/sticks to remove any debris.
  • Test the controller on another system if possible.
