1. Introduction

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The SM-617 comes with three 1200mAh rechargeable lithium batteries. Install them before first use.

3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Charging the Device

Charge the device fully before initial use for optimal battery life.

1. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the DC 5V (USB-C) port on the device.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
3. The charging indicator will illuminate. Once fully charged, the indicator may change color or turn off.

For best radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Slide the OFF/ON switch located on the side of the device to turn it on or off.

5.2 Radio Operation (AM/FM/SW)

1. Select Band: Press the SW, AM, or FM button to choose your desired radio band.
2. Manual Tuning: Rotate the TUN knob to manually adjust the frequency.
3. Auto Scan: In FM mode, long-press the FM button to initiate an automatic station scan. The device will search and save available stations.
4. Direct Frequency Input: Use the number keys (0-9) on the top of the device to directly input a specific frequency.
5. Volume Adjustment: Use the VOL knob to control the audio volume.

5.3 Media Playback (USB/Micro SD Card)

The device supports various media formats for playback from USB drives or Micro SD cards.

1. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or a Micro SD card into the Micro SD card slot.
2. Press the VIDEO button to access the media menu.
3. Navigate using the playback control buttons (Skip Forward/Backward) and select from options like Music, Video, Photo, or EBook.
4. Press the Play/Pause button to confirm selection and start playback.
5. Supported video formats include RM, AVI, MKV, FLV, MPG, MP4, DAT, MOV, 3GP.

5.4 Bluetooth Connectivity

Use the Bluetooth function to stream audio from your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

1. Press the BT button to switch the device to Bluetooth mode. The screen will display "BLUE".
2. On your smartphone or Bluetooth device, search for "SM-617" in the Bluetooth settings.
3. Select "SM-617" to pair. Once paired, you can play audio from your device through the radio's speaker.

5.5 Headphone Use

For private listening, connect 3.5mm headphones to the earphone jack.

• Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
